Mr. John Jackson, Merchant of this city, and
the public generally, are respectfully notified,
that the business conducted by him, will he
continued by the subscribers, under the firm of
J. E. WHITE & Cos. for themselves and the
widow of Mr. Jackson.
The Stock now on hand is large and general,

In conformity to an act of congress, passed
the 22d day of’ December last, laying an em
bargo on ail shins and vessels in the ports and
harbors of the United States, and instructions
received from the secretary of the treasury
bearing the same date, directing.that notice be
given of the passage of the act to all foreign t cs
sels, and that efficient measures be taken t<
prevent their taking any additional cargo on
board, such provisions and stores as arc neces
sary for their voyage only excepted, 1 do here
by notify all owners, masters, consignees, and
all others concerned, either directly or indirect
ly, to conform themselves according to the law
and instructions aforesaid, which have ben;
promulgated in the several gazettes of this city.
