By the Mayor of the city of Savannah.
Whereas, it is represented to the mayor and
aldermen it the city of Savannah, by one of the
fire-mas-ters, that the BRASS PIPE of Engine
No. four (4) has been stolen by some evil dis
posed person or persons: and whereas, the pub
lic safety requires that such offences be punish
ed.
' .1 do therefore, by the authority of the city
council, issue, this proclamation, hereby offer,
ing a reward of One Hundred Dollars, to any
person or persons who will inform, and bring to
conviction the perpetrators of this dangerous
.'larceny.

In conformity with general orders, and the
adjutant general's notification, the review of
inspection of the militia of the first brigade, are
hereby ordered, on the following days, and
places, to wit
On Thursday, the first ot April, the review
ot inspection of the third battalion, Effingham
county
On Saturday, the 3d, the review of inspec
tion of the second battalion of the 35th regi>
ment
On Afonday, the 5th of April, the convention
of the field, staff, commissioned aud non-com
missioned officers of the first regiment, Savan
nab.
On Tuesday, the 6th, the review of inspec
tion of the said regiment.
On Thursday, the 8th, the review of inspec
tion ol the fifth battalion, Bryan county
On Friday, the 9th, the review of .inspection
of the fourth battalion, Liberty county
On Saturday, the 10th April, the review of
inspection of the sixth battalion, M'Intosh coun
ty
On Monday, the 19th April, the review of
Inspection ot the seventh battalion, Glynn
county.
On Wednesday, the 21st the review of the
eighth battalion, Camden county,
And, on Friday, the 23d ot April, the review
ot inspection of the seventy-fourth battalion,
Wayne county.
Officers commanding regiments and batta
lions are, therefore, hereby commanded to have
the same under arms, on their respective pa
rade grounds, on the days mentioned, by eleven
o’clock a. x. armed and accoutred agreeable
to law.
The field, stoff. company, commissioned and
non-commissioned officers cf the first regiment
will convene on the day and hear directed,
armed, accoutred and provided as the law di
rects, to be instructed in the discipline • pre

Absconded,
From this city, a NEGRO WENCH, named
Betty, she is a small good looking wench,
about SO years of age, is African born, but had
resided sometime in New-Providence before she
came to this state; she speaks her country lan
guage well, and is said to speak French; is well
known on St. Simon’s Island and on Turtle Riv
er. She was seen about 6 weeks ago between
this city and Ogeches in company with a ne
gro iellow, was well dressed and had a band-
box with her, and said she had a pass from the
subscriber to go to Sapello. A reward of ten
dollars will be paid for lodging her in any gaol
so that the subscriber can get her, and all. par
sons are cautioned from harboring or carrying

plantations, CRAWFORD and BOWDEN, floated
between the Great and Little Ogechee riven, and from
ten to twelve miles from Savannah. The two trafi*
contain about {even hundred acres, of excellent fwamp,
and near eleven hundred acres of highland, a part of
which is adopted to the culture of cotton and provifions;
a cosliderable portion of the fwamp is l'afe tide land,
which from local advantages, is fnfceptable of great im
provements There is a fettiement on'each plantation,
but the buildings, except a two Cory dwelling houfe,
are much out of repair. The above plantations will be
fold at a very reafocable price, or exchanged for pro*
petty in Charleflon.
