the admiralty court of the United Sutci, for
the said district, by Archibald S, Bulloch, col
lector of the port of Savannah, in the district

That the Spanish ship called the Welling

bow lying in the port ot Savannah aforesaid
pithin the jurisdiction ot this honorable court
was lately an American ship, owned by, and
belonging, to, an Americao citizen or citizens,
fcttd was registered at the district oi Bath in
the state of Massachusetts ; tnat the'said ship
or vessel, now called the Wellington, was for
merly called the Pallas, and sailed trout s< *e
port or place in the-United states to some
foreign port or place in the kingdom of Spain ;
Where the said vessel was sold or transferred to
some foreigner or foreigners, to wit: to a sub
ject or subjects of ibe king of Spain, or to
some person or persons for the use and benefit
o! some foreigner or foreigners either in whole
or in part; Tuat after such sate or transfer,
the said ship or vessel did return to the Uuit
ed States of America, to wit, to the port of Sa.
vannah, in the district aforesaid, where she ar
rived bn the fifteenth day of June in the pre
sent year of our Lord one thousand eight hun
dred and fifteen, so owned either in whole or
in psrt by a subject or citizen of some foreign
prince or state or by some person or persons
for the use and benefit of some foreigner j—

aforesaid, at the port of Savannah in the dis
trict aforesaid, on the fifteenth day of June
aforesaid, and having been more than eight
days in the said port, the master or person hav.

hath not delivered up to the said Archibald S.
Bulloch, collector of the port and district of
Savannah aforesaid, the certificate of the regis
try of the said ship obtained under and by
virtue of the laws of the United States, whilst
the said ship was an American vessel and own
ed by American citizen*; all which actiugi
and doings are in violation of the seventh sec
Cion of an act of congress, passed on the thirty
first day of December, one thousand seven hnn
dred and thirty-two entitled an act concerning
the registering and recording of ships or ves
sels ; by reason whereof, and by virtue of the
said act of congress, the said ship Wellington,
With her tackle, apparel and furniture, have
become forfeited to the United States
Now, therefore, yon, the said marshal, are
hereby commanded to cite and admonish all
and every person or persons having, or pre
tending to have, any interest or claim in or to
the.said ship Wellington, to be, and appear, at
a special court of admiralty, to be held at the
Court house in the city of S-.vanr.ah, on the
second Tuesday in August nest, to answer the
premises, and that right and justice may be
done in this behalf; and whatsoever you shall
do In the premises, certify and make known
to the judge of sad court and have then and
there this writ.

On the 20th inst. my fellow Jacob, jet black,
nearly 6 feet high, stout made, country born
and well known in Savannah, All persons are
cautioned from hiring, harboring, or taking
off said fellow, as the law will be rigidly en
forced against offenders. A reward of twenty
dollars will be paid for lodging him in any
gaol in this state and information given, or for
delivering him to me, at the Thirteen Mile
House, Augusta road.
