fainted, and gentlemen crowded around the ex*Colonei, threatening to throw him overboard if he did not desist. Cowed by the action of the bystanders, Allen wilted and hurried from the cabin, and also from the boat, on her touching terra Anna. As the case now stands, Allen charges his wife with infidelity and de sertion. and she accuses him of cruelty, neglect and wilful persecution. The matter is in the hands of the gen tlemen of the green bag, and will soon furnish fresh food for the scandal loving public. Jurgen, who seduced tfce wife of a Mn Hill, in Greeaporty was very nearly killed by the injured husband. The wife, who supposed herself dying, is recover ing, and it is probable Jurgen will also gain strength enough to take himself but of this part of!the country. Pauline Brady has sued for a. divorce from Edwin L. Brady, whom she charges with beating, pinching, cursing, throw ing umbrellas at her, and indulging in other pretty little amusemeuts at her ex pense. Mr. B. denies all the allegations, and says his mother-in-law and politics are all the trouble. He says his wife hated him, and repeatedly said “she would prefer a nigger to a white man. 5 ’ The case went to a referee, and the wile was allowed alimony to the amount of $321 per annum.
