Tlieir hos tility to Northern Methodist and its inCidnu tal hatred of the South in years past, is said to be the prime motive of tbe act,” The artic e which appeared in the Consti tutionalist and which has been given above in full, is, as we have been authentically in formed. a selected arncie and not an edito rial. Iu such case it ought to be corrected, ns it contains erroneous statements and is calculated to make impressions wide of the truth. This has been spoken among them •elves, and, in eo case, I am satisfied, has any proposition been made direcuy or in directly to the authorities of the Episcopal church in Georgia. To all who feel any interest in the Methodists of Georgia, we may say that it is the fixed pur pose of preachers and people to preserve under God our separate existence as a church and, as announced iu the late pastmal ad dress of onr beloved Bishops, to extend our borders to the regions beyond.” J.
