THE ANNIVERSARY OK TUB GERMANIA FIRE CO. NO. m _The anniversary celebration of tlie Germania File Cos. Ko. 10, yesterday, passed off with entire success, and reflected great credit upon all concern ed. Although an invitation had been extended to each of the white companies of the city to join in the colebrutfou, but one of them, the Oglethorpe, the oldest organization of the kind In the city, were able to parade yesterday. The procession was formed on Bay street, at the Exchange and comprised the Germania Fire Com! pany, 00 men, with the fine band of the 12tli Maine Regiment, under command of Foreman Henry Blonn, and the Oglethorpe Fire Company, 48 men j under command of 2ud Foreman Chas. Schread.— lion. P. M. Russell was the chief marshal of the oc casion. The procession moved through Bay, West. South, East Broad and Bay to Fireman’s Hall, eliciting everywhere much ndmiraiion for the flue appearance of the lull ranks of the two companies The day was concluded with a splendid supper at the Volks Garten. The dress of the Germania was black pants, red shirts, black Firemen's caps, with white front. The Ogjethorpes wore black pants, grey shirts, red col lars and cuffs, with black hats and glazed belts. The companies were addressed on Liberty square by Henry Blun, Ksq , and Hon. Philip M. Rus*ell. At the dinner speeches were made by U. Blun, M. H. Meyer, Hon. P. M. Bussell and Geo. Theus. The celebration wound np with a grand ball last evening, which is said' to have been a brilliant and successful affair in erery particular. More Improvements—Another Hew Saw Mill. Messrs. Lußoclie & Johnson, merchants or Savan nah, have ou the Ssvauuah and Ogeechee Canal, In complete running order, a Saw Mill capable of turn, mp out 25 to 30,100 feet of merchantable lumber per ,lii m. The mill is one of the finest lu the Southern Mates, having two gangs ol saws, and all the mod' ern improvements. The motive power of the mill is a sixty-horse power high pressure engine, capable el running even above that power. The mill Is eli gibly situated in a good timber belt, and its lumber can be easily brought through the canal in rafts and Mats to the city. Messrs. Lußoclie A Johnson are at the present time shipping timber cut on the Savannah River, and theif operations will soon be extended t o the Ogeechee and its adjacent country where the great Umber belt lies. Large quantities of Umber are al. ready cut iu that section and are shortly expected to anus in SavanDah. F.miorant Labor for Florida.—We had the pleas ure of an interview last evening, with Col. Capt. H. C. Dearborn,commander, from New York on the 29th, arrived early yesterday mornlug. The Zo diac had a lull freight and a good list of pas sengers. She reports, on Sal urday at 10 a. m.. 25 mills S. tv. of Cape Haucras passed the steamship Enterprise from Savauuali, bound North. Saturday 11 jf a. in, passed steamer Starlight, bound North.
