The vessel will be a total loss. A portion of her Crew have arrived In tills city. The Indian River was formerly the Clyde, a suc cessful blockade runner. She was fitted out In New York at great expense, by a company, and was in tended for the fishing business. She had on board a full crew of fishermen, a colony of forty-seven Ger mans, Ice, a saw mill, etc., for the use of the com pany. A portion of the cargo was being taken oil’, and wreckers had been sent for, who were daily ex pected to arrive from Key West. The Jacksonville Union of the SHh inst., contained an account of the arrival of the Indian River at that port on the Ist Inst., and of Iter departure the follow ing day for Fort Caperon, on the Indian River. The Florida stockholders and directors of the Fishing Company to which she belonged, are Col. Titus and l)r. John Weslcott. The design of the company» whose enterprise has received so unfortunate a check, was to ship fish in ice, live turtle and canned oysters to New York. For this purpose tire staemer had been thoroughly fitted up, with ice bankers otpableof storing forty-tons of fish, and with ample apartments, capable of a regulated temperature, for preserving in ail tlielr health and vigor on their * vuj age not tit, immense numbers of turtle. gabbotbd at Tuk Foot of West Bkoad Street, Last Nmiht. Last evening at a very early hour, Mr. John bmlthwick, of Terrell county, Georgia, whoar rived from charleston yesterday afternoon, by the steamer Rockland, while in search of a hotel or board ing house, asked a colored man where he could find lodgings. The negro offered to conduct him to a house.
