Tb< v a?aßO*b Daily Herald >AVa.\KAH. THrMDAT. JANUARY 4, 1864. (re * tbs uliKMl Diitr iiehald] "TKMPI'S FT'alT.” Tear after year Is gone, As follows ware on ware ; And swiftly we are hastening on Towards the silent grave— The darkness of that narrow rest Where sleeps the lowliest and best. Another year has fled And many a cheek Is pale, And low lies many a youthful bead, And loud Is many a wall For those on whom It dawned so bright. Whose day of life Is set in night. Why mourn the night of time, Or grieve thy youth Is pist f Look forward with the hope sublime Os reaching Heaven at last; And let thine earthly comfort be That hope of Immortality. And when thine eyes shall close To earthly hope and fear, And mortal sorrows, mortal woes, F. >reve r. 1 i‘.appear— To realms of endless Joy alar, That hope shall be, your guiding star. 9. V. G.
