Theatre.—The charming little play or Barefoot
was performed last night to one of the best audiences
we have seen for some time past, and Judging by the
hearty demonstrations of approval throughout ,he
piece, a more highly delighted auditory has seldom
assembled In our theatre.
AS we antic pated on first seeing her, Miss Puce
ha. steadily grown In favor with ourpublle, until she
has become au established tavorite. Her adiutia
personation of the simple-hearted Little Barefoot
last evening was, we think, her crowning success.
From her first appearance to the fall of the cui a
she held her audience In charmed admiration by her
graceful sprighillness and fascinating nactete of
luannt.T.
To-night anuounced as her benefit and la>t ap-
pearance, ou which occasion she appears us Leah,
lu the thrilling drama entitled “Leah, the Forsaken,”
nuil us “Miami, the Huntress of the Mississippi.”
We sincerely trust that the attendance "Id
lie HUcli US "111 afford to Hie fair and talented
young beneficiary a substantial and giatifying testi
monial orthe high appreciation In which she is held
by our theatrical public. Appearing amongst us an
enllre stranger, unheralded by the press, at an In
clement season, she has encountered difficulties
which only her talents aud persevering energy could
overcome. Nightly she has appeared lu a role of
characters requiring great versatility, achieving new
triumph*, and steadily winning favor with her au
diences. She deserves well of the friends of the
• liama. and we hope that those for whose entertain
ment She lias so faithfully and successfully labored,
will give her such a inn-well benefit to-night as will
cause her long lo remember Savannah among the
I a cues of her professional triumphs, to which she
ivid return with pleasure, confident ot a kindly recep-
