New York, March 2.—The Committee an Commerce have not yet come to any definite conclusion on the proposition before them, to spjlropriate s'sufficient sum of money to construct quarantine bbuaes for New Y’ork harbor. It is regarded as not only necessary to guard against the approach of cholera, but it will act as a preventive. It is not-known what amount of money it will require. As soon as the amount required can be got, definite action will be taken thereon. The Post Office Committee, at their meeting today,' had under consideration the proposition to allow the construction of two bridges over the Mississippi, one near St. Louis and another at a higher point, for rail road purposes. The matter was finally referred to Senator Ramsey, who is authorized to examine and re port to the committee at their next meeting. The Tribune's Washington special says: A Senator elect from one of the seceded States, in an interview with Secretary Stanton to-day, entreated that the freed men’s Bureau might be continued in hia State, and stated if the government desired to protect and foster the loyal sentiment, it must send a strong military force there. Madison, Wis., March 2.—The Wisconsin Legisla ture yesterday passed resolutions to sustain Congress on the Freedmen’s Bureau bill. 8t. Paul, Mins.. March 2.—The Legislature of Min nesota adjourned to-day. Resolutions were passed sustaining the action of Congress, and voted down re solutions favoring President Johnson. ' FENIAN EXCITEMENT IN NEW TOBE. New Yobk, March 2.—The Fenian excitement in this city over the newsrecsived by yesterday’s steamer ta increasing. Much activity prevails at the head quarters of the Brotherhood. In the Supreme Court to-day, Mr. E. A- Stansberry, Receiver of tbo Morris Fire and Inland Ins. Co., ap pointed by Judge Miller of Albany, was fined by Judge *£ e ,um Mr. Stansberry to go to jail till the flue was paid.
