T HIS remedy counteructN tlio whole train of diieaees artsimr from tlic debility of the di- ge.’tivo oi irauH or a depraved condition of tlio slo* much and bowels. Most of the diseases ofchildren originate in ver minous affections. Worms destroy tho nourishment which is in tended by nature to support life. Tho immediate effect of Swaitn's Vermifuge are to tranqtiilize the stomach, clo .r it ofacidous plilngm, dissipate superfluous bile, increase the grnslic juices and promote healthy digestion. It al'e' iates sick headache, and is an ontedote for tlie Cholera Morbus of our country, diarrhoea, fever and ague, and that class of discuses which owe their o igin to a disordered state of the sto mach and bowels. This remedy expels worms by giving healthy action to the stomach and organs of digestion.— There is nothing iu its composition to kid worms. They are seldom seen after its uie, and the p *• tient improves in health, color and appetite.— Those remedies which kill worms must of cour-e iujuro tho’ stomach materially, and the cutise of many serious complaints. This fact has been ma terially neglected oy the /acuity, and die error has never been discovered until owaim's Vermifuge proved it to tlio entire satisfaction of eveiy family who has used it. . Tho medicine is no less efficacious m many of tlio diseases of crown persous.by dissipating those morbid secretions which’produco dysentery, dinr- rlura, cholera morbus, piles, fever and ague, dys pepsia, acidity of the stomach, foul breath, nnd the disagreeable affectionsconsequentupon bilious disorders. It is now in general use in mn*» nnrt« oi the world. Families resident in the country, travel lers going into tho interior or voyaging into dis tant tropical climates, (insulated from medical tal ent) would find Swaim's VormifUge of great ad vantage. From the Pennsylvania Inquirer, of May 3,1834. Tlowaml’s Tonic mixture. M R. EDITOR—Much os tho powers o p 4h‘s favorite remedy have beeii extolled, I can not om*t this opportunity ofdeciuring my decided conviction that every nccount of tho sanative vir tues of the M ixture will bo verified to tho foil ex tent. Whatever he the character o 'the complaint —whether unequal tertian—double or simple quartan—however varied be its type, attended with syncope, apoplexy, vehement Spasms, prith coldness und stupor—whatever its duration, whe ther vernal or nutumnal. laving the foundation for visceral affection*, and other stow but unerringly fytal maladies—however irregular in their inva sion, nnd uncommon in their appoarances—in fine, whatever be the ago. idiosyncrasy, or l.ab ts of tho patient, the complaint alike bids adieu on the duo administration of the Tonic Mixture.— This is no high-wrought panegyric for tho exper iment. I speak only from what 1 positVe'y know —however successful other preparations may have heeu. there can he little reliance placed upon them when compared with this article. By strict ly following the directions that accompany the bottle, we find it acts upon the most scientific principle—for, it eeeins to antie pafo the return of tho cold fit. and excites a strong reaction, and powerful glow over tho whole system; nnd thus to pre-occupy tlie ground, and by disturbing the regularity of die type, to subdue tlic intermittent altogether. Under such a course of medicine, I have been astonished to notice with what haste tlio disease beats alarm for a retreat, and ti e pro trated strength of the system rallies. It is a pow erfol, yet mild medicine—substituting calmnes-, tranquillity .and balmy slcep.in place of p iiu, wea riness. and rostlfl** nights—a renovation of long- lost strength and robust health, in lieu of feeble ness and emneiution. And I confiden ly believe, and I predicate my oninion upon the most sub stantial proof, that under whatever sky—in v«d).at- ever cornor of the earth—whether upon hi'd or valley, wherever fever and ague makes its appear- once, there also will “Rownnd’s Tonic Mixture” find its way—the happy desideratum, the perfect antidote. In all the various coses of languor, lassitude and debilitation, it is an unfuiling reme dy, as it is equally its province to impart Cheer- % fulness and decision to tho mind, as health and vi gor to the body. But the peculiar virtue on which its celebrity is based, is the facility and certainty with which it rcs.ores the virile powers when they havo been destroyed by disease, tune, reckless ness, or any of the numerous causes winch termi nate in tlie prostration of those functions. In common with the generality of really good medicines, this Cordial contains nothing of a mer curial or deleterious nature, among the many in gredients which compose it; but is, at the same time, so simple, yet so efficacious, that while it can reuovute Uie prostrated energies of a giant, an in fant may use it, not only with imponity, but with advantage. The usages of society are unfortunately such that, notwithstanding the benefit* which would be sure to result from it, we cannot enter into an an alysis of this inestimable Cordial here, or publish many of tho documents which have been receiv ed, as vouchers of the blessings it has conferred on numbers of despairing individuals. But this we cannot forbear remarking—that it has been de monstrated that there is scarcely ever, if any such thing at all, as natural barrenness, or as natural imbecility of the procreant functions in either sex j and. therefore, Urn' those evils ifra the effects of artificial causes, and maybe speedily subdued and removed by the use of “Lo Cordial de Lucira.” The Lucina Cordial is also an indubitable cure for the Gieet, and tho Fluor Albus, obstructed, difficult or painful Menstruation; also, for the incontinence of Urine or tho involuntary dis charge thereof. It is likewise an invaluable and tur veiled medicine in cases of Chronic Erup tions of the skin, and in the dropsical affections of the aged. Most important to the American Public. The United States proprietor of the celebrated Lucina Cardial, or Efixir of Love, begs to lay be fore the community, the following certificate* which ho hus received from the inventor j tlie Illus trious Dr. Mugnin, of Paris: “This is to certify, that I have disposed of the. recipe for mukingthe Lucina Cordial, or Elixir of Love, and ulso the right to sell it throughout the United States of Norm America, to John Winters IIojdenvellfM. D. My reasons for so doing is, that the demands to me for the above Cordial, of which J vintbe inventor, ore so numerous, that I am unable to supply ull the orders fromFruuceond Italy alone; und have therefore disposed of tho privileges vouchsafed in this and other certificates nf a like nature, in order to generalise the benefit*, of my discovery throughout the world.
