To preserve, therefore, that health by natural means is a grand moral and pouucal scheme t to fulfil which requires our utmost attention. The unprece dented pop lUarity and universal approbation which this medicine hus achieved tlirougnout the United States, die Canadas, Texas, Mexico and tlie West Iudies, fully justify Dr. Peters in warmly and con scientiously recommending them to tlie special at tention of tlie ufilicted. Dr. Peters hus spenunuch time in experiment ing with different Vegetable Medicines tor diseas es of the liver,"and now offers his Vegetable Pills as the best, most convenient and cheapest Medi cine that can’he prepared for general vise. One great quality of his Vegetable Pills is that they have theulteruafive principle combiued with tlieir cartliartic, or operative qualities, or that they nptonly cleanse the stomach and bowels by pur ging, but they regulate tlie liver, change the iupr- bid secretiou, strengthen the digestive organs, pu rify tlie blood, invigorate tlje circulation, and gives tone andouergy to the nervous system. The Vegetable Pills arc a sure remedy for jaun dice, sick and nervous headache, dyspepsy, cos tiveness, sickness of the stomach, heartburn, all bilious compluints, fevers of ull kinds, and if taken at the commencement will invariably check their progress, and save the patient from a protracted and dangerous sicluiess. Extract of a letter from Dr. Gurney, of New- Orleans, La.Oct. 9,1837.—“Iliayo received much Assistance in my practice; especially in jaundice and yellow fever; from tlie use of Peters’ Pills. I presume that, on an average, I prescribe 100 box es per month:” Extractor a letter from Dr. Pritchard, of Hud son, New-York, June 3,1836.—“I was aware that Dr. Peters was one of tlie best chemists in tho U. Thqy are, in deed, a superior medicine and reflect alike upon the chemist, tho physician, and the phylosopher.’ Extractof a letter from-»Dr. Wnines, of (Jin Le Cordial dc Luclue—Ou I’Elix- ir de 1* Amour. T HE inbscriber has tho pleasure of announc ing to the citizens of the United States, that lie bos purchased, for a very large sum and from tho inventor, the celebrated Dr. Magnin, of Paris, tho recipe and right for making this astonishing mcdiciqe. Until tlie appearance of the “Lucina Cordial,” (about three years since) it was thought that tlie compluints which it speedily overcomes, were beyond tlie reach of human remedy, as for upwards of a thousand years, they had baffled the wisdom nud ingenuity of the most profound phy sicians in all parts of tho world. This Cordial, however, to tho great advantage of the human race, soon proved itself to be the desideratum so long sought for; and accordingly, notwithstanding tho Drier period of its existence, it has acquired a celebrity so great*, that it is eagerly sought for throughout the civilized globe. Dr. Magniu soon ■ finding tint the demand was so vast as to render a supply impossible, disposed of tlie recipe and right of sale, under obligations of secrecy, for England and tho United States, and other coun tries, only preserving France and Italy for himself. Thus has the subscriber possesed himself of tho invaluable secret, and now hastens to give tho in habitants of his line of agency tlie bonefits of bis Speculation. * “Le Ciiidm! de Lucine,” or, in EpgMsh, “tho Lucina C ordial,” is a general invigorator of tlie hu man frame. In nil the various cases of lauguor, lassitude and debilitation, it is an unfailing reme dy, as it is equally its province to impart cheer fulness and deciBibnto- the nitud, as health and vi gor to tlje body. But the peculiar virtue on which its celebrity is based, is the facility and certainty with whicnHt restores tho virile powers when they hove been destroyed by disease, time, reckless ness, or any of the.numcroua causes which termi nate in the prostration of those functions. In ponnnon witli the generality of really good medicines, this Cordial contains uuLiang oi a mer curial or deleterious nature, among tlie ninny in gredients whichcompose it; but is, at the same tune, so simple, yet so efficacious, that while it can renovate tlie prostrated energies of a giant, an in fant may liso it, hot only witli impunity, but with advantage. The usuges of society are unfortunately such that, notwithstanding the benofite which would be sure to result from it, we cannot enter into an an alysis of tliis inestimable Coruial here, or publish many of the documents which have been receiv ed, ns vouchers of the blessings it has conferred on numbers of despairing individuals. But this wo cannot forbear remaming—that it has been de monstrated that there is scarcely ever, if any such tiling at ull, ns naturul barrenness, or as untural imbecility ofthe procronut functions in eithersex; and. therefore, that those evils are tlie effects of artificial causes, und maybe speedily subdued and removed by the use of “Le Cordial de^ Lucine.” The Lucina Cordial iB also an indubitable cure for the Gleet, and the Fluor Albas, obstructed, difficult or painful Menstruation; also, for die incontinence o’f Urine or the involuntary dis charge thereof. It is likewise an invaluable and unrivalled medifcino in cases of Chronic Errup- tions of the Bkin, and in the dropsical affections of the aged. Most important to the American Public.
