This is tlie reason why so many experiments

usual attendants and consequences of this dread

litter despair of n cure, or frequent disappoint

who have made trial of Dr. Jebb’s Rheumatic
Liniment, even in obstinate cases of long stand

ceived essential relief, nnd many have been cur
ed iu a few days, some iu twenty-four hours, ns
a number of persons iu Boston and vicinity, who
were formerly afflicted with tho Rhoumutism,

which prove the most thorough and surprising

■White Sulphur Pills.
A N opinion has been long entertained by in
telligent medical men, familiar with the use
ofthe waters ofthe White Sulphur Springs in
Greenbrier couuty, Virginia, that tlie medical
virtues of theso waters are muhily dependent up
on the .saline ingredients which they hold in so
lution. The correctness of this opinion has re
cently been abundantly established by the sana
tive oflccts which are exerted upon the system by
the salts ofthesei waters obtained by careful evnn
oration. The simple salts of tho ’water thus ob
tained, although sufficiently strong, in convenient
doses, for many cases of disease, are, perhaps, as
a cathartic, too slow iit their operation for general
use. To combine the specific virtues of the suits
ofthe water with a more speedy cathartic effect,
it has been found advantageous, to unite with
the saline ingredients, very small portions of veg
etable purgative matter, aud in this form the arti
cle is uow prepared undor the lights and sanctions
of experience, und recommended, net asn pana
cea remedial for every disease, but as a valuuble
alterative and cathartic medicine, adapted to a
variety ofnffections for which medicines of this
class ure usually proper. For some time this med
iciue has been prepared at the Springs and given
away to such individuals as desired its use. The
calls for it have, howover, now become so fre-

unpleasant to the taste, and does not prevent tho
daily avocations of one using iu it must be perse?
vered in, and the cure is gradual, but certain and
permanent. Instances ore constantly multiply
ing where this distressing complaint iscorapleto-
ly relieved and cured, although of years standing,
by the use of Dr. Spohn’s celebrated remedy.

In all dyspeptic oymtoms, costiveness, trregu*
larity, distress after mealB, paitts in the side and
torpidity ofthe liver,.the cure is perfect, and any
one so afflicted will become immediately conviit*
ced on using it, that he has at Inst found a “sover
eign balm forhis wounds.” Females are particu
larly recommended to use it for costiveness or ir
regularity, and other female complaints. It is .
iroved to correct vitiated nnd disordered humors
;eeping the stomach in most perfect order. Those
persons who after an evenings indulgence at par
ties, &c. have headache and dullness the next
day, will find this a sure preventive if taken at
bed time. For all common complaints, in a few
days its virtues will be self-evident, attd a complete,
cure will soon be effected. When a person has
a cold and feels unwell, generally a free use of it
fora few days will he sure to relieve .without
physic or pills. To children it may be given with
the greatest advantage. V
In all acidity or sourness of stomach this remedy
is sovereign and invaluable; as a general family
medicino it is now adopted by many of the most
respectable futniles. It never sickens the stomach

stinate Coi iveness, and may be used with per
ftet safety in any case in which an alterative and
mild cathartic effect are desired. Many intefli-
