trade, have been to a fair exteut, including some
quantity of Canada Flour, and the weather tins eon-
tinned calm and dry, and bright,and latterly intense
ly hot.
In free .wheat a retail business has been done with
dealers, and a few lotsUsve been taken for shipment
to Irolund at declining prices, generally 3d to 4d un
der the rates oHost Tuesday. Several speculative
lurchssos have been made of Wheal in bond at 7s 8d
lor noil Odessa and 0s for American.
Prime United States Flour in bond has been in re
quest atSOs, but duty paid, and Canadian have had a
heavy sale, and are (Jd to Is cheaper.
London Exchange News. Aug S.-There has
been on extensive speculation for a fall in the Stock
Exchange among die jobbers, hut at present the pub
lic has not taken the alarm, and do not participate in
it. The fluctuation* in consols are considerable.
They opened at 90J to 4 for the account, to 693, when
the market gave way a little aboutan hour before the
close of business, and they left 0O| (sellers.) Ex
chequer bills ore a trifle flatter, at 90s to 2s pm.
The foreign market looks Armor, wilhetitony great
advance in prices. Spanish Actives are quoted ot34}
to ]. Portuguese 5 por cents, are 311 to 2. Dutgh
31 per cents oro 51 to Mexican, 301 to 9. Colum
bian, 25 to |.
In Birmingham shares there la n further advance.
They ore quoted 04 to 0 prein. The other shares are
likewise improving. Great Western are 34 to 6 prom.

London Corn Exchange, Aug. 5.—The supply
of wheat has been large to ibis morning's market,and
the weather being very fine has'caused a decline In

SuflTolk 56o a 70s; Norfolk 56s a 75s.
The most important public sales of this day have
consisted ofColonial Wools, ofCoylon Coffee, and of
Tea. The West India markets are heavy. Sugar
has fallen from 0d to la per cwt.
