a small village in the country, where business
may be done to great advantage, is desirous

OSNABURG, November 1 2.
Our fate is at length decided and our wishes ar
complidicd, this country pa (Tea under the fovereign*
ty of the King of England. On the Bth of this month,
col. Elaflel, at the head of a battlton or the fifth regi
ment of the Hanoverian Infantry, entered our city
with two pieces of cannon and lighted matches ; two
squadrons of cavalry weie placed at Reim, a leagur
from thence. The next day the citizens appeared un
der arm*, to receive Mr. D’ Arinswaldt, nunilter of
the Cabinet The Burgo matLr at the head of the
lenate received him at the gate of the city ; addn f
fed him and preferred him, on a silver plate, the five
keys of the city. The miniller accepted them and
immediately returned them, faying that the magif
crates would guard them with as much honor as they
had hitherto done.

a manhetlo.hy which he renounces in favor ofjiis auauit

We learn from the Hague the embarkment of
the demi.b? igades of French troops,
dedined for Louisiana, will take place immediately ;
that aiieady forty veflels for tranfporrs have arrived
from Dunkirk at'the mouth of the Meofe, to take
them onboard and carry them to the place of deili
nati on.
Tne citizen Muller of Mulhee, has been acknow
ledged by the court of Vienna, in qualify or c. arge
dcs affairs of the Helvetic republic, and mr. Di .fba.h
who (till wished lo be acknowledged as the represen

was repairing at Malaga.
The Ihip Enterprlze, nf this port, chartered bv go
vernment, had arrived at Gibraiter with provisions
or vefiels at war, four days before theProfperity fail
ed.
A Tripolitan corsair of 2o guns, lay and was cloft
!v watched by t’ne Adams, which lay at Algefiras.
We are also informed that a great number of Bri
rifii troops under command of general Knox, lud
arrived at Gibraltar and proceeded up the Mediter
ranean for Malta.

That between the latitude thirty five which is the
southern boundary claimed by N.Carolina, & tlieNor.

vention between that Hate and South Carolina,, in the
year one thousand seven hundred and eighty seven,
there inrei venes a trari of country fuppofcdGo be a
bout twelve miles wide, from north to fimth, and
extending in length, from the top of the main ridge
ol mountains which divides the ealtem from the wes
tern waters to the Milfiffippi. This trari:, conle
queutly remained within the limits of South Carolina;
Sc in the year i727 it was ceded by the (late ot S.
Carolina, to the United States, whe accepted* the
ceflioa.
On the eadern extremity of this trari, immediately
at the foot of the main ridge, of. mountains above
mentioned, are lituated the people whole petition is
under consideration.
