WHEREAS I have received of
ficial infoimanon from the ilie
rur of Richmond county, that a cer
tain William Champion, cotinned un
der a charge of Murder, in the com
mon jail ot tiie laid county, did on the
27th ultimo, make his escape therefrom
1 have therefore thought fit to iflue
this my proclamation, offering a re- and
ward of one bundl ed dollars, to anyi
per (bn or persons who will apprehend
the said William Champion, and hit
fafely lodge infome secure jail within
this Rate.
And I do hereby charge and require
ull officers, civil and military belonging
to this Hate, to be aiding an aßifhng in
apprehending and securing the laid
offender, so that he may be brought,
by a due course of law, to ans wer to the
charge alledged againfl him.
Given under my hand, and the Great
Seal ot the Bate, at thei>cate House,
