T3 AN-AWAY from the fubferiber, on the 9th
day of January last, negro man, named SAM,
about 27 years of age, yellow complexin both of
hisjupper eye teeth of a black colour, as if rotten
about fix feet high, fiender made, talks broken. Had
on when we it he away, a green cotton negro cloth
jacket and trowfers and took v.ith him a blue coat
and white trowfers.
The above negro was formerly belonging to 7he
island of Jamica, has been much at fsa, and it is
believed, drfigns to get on board fame vefTel in the
harbour of Savannah lor the purpose or resuming that
employment. All captains of vefTels are ftriftly cau
tioned against carrying him oft, and al! perfens are
forbid to harbour or conceal him under the fevercß
penalty of law.
The above reward will be paid so any persons who
will return laid negro to me, or ten dollars if lodged
in any goal, ard information thereof given so /hat he
can be obtained.

A Ration to ccr.iilt of one pound snd a quarter of
[kef, or three quarters of a pound of Pork, eighteen
ounces of Bread or Fleur, one gill of Rum, Whi Iky or
Brandy, and at the rate of two quarts of Salt, four
quarts of Vinegar, four pounds of Soap,and one pound
tnd an half of Candies to every hundred Rations. The
prices of the feverrd component parts of the Ration
mud be fpecified.
The Rations are to be furmlhed in such quantities
that there lhali at ail times, during the terms of the
proposed contracts, be fuflicient for the conlumption
of the troops at Mkhilirnacinac, Detroit and Nia
gara for fix months in advance, and at each of the
other polls on the Wefiern waters, for at lead three
months in advance, of good and wholefetne provi
