citizen, that a sense of his loss should

consists of 60 pairs of zinc and
copper plates, disposed in two
troughs, con (trucked on Mr.Cruik

thirty two pounds of water, and
mixed with two pouuds of con
centrated nitrous acid. With
this charge, iron wires of i-2otb

tion —Charcoal of box wood was
not only deflagrated at the place
of contad, but remained perma-*

On the Culture of Guinea-Grass.

nea-grass feed, which I plant
ed in the drills of one •fourth
part es an acre of very indif
ferent land ; the feed sprung
and soon covered the ground
with grass four feet high and
upwards. Being desirous •of
laving as much feed as possible,
I cut one bundle of grass for
horses: they ate it all wkh
great advidity.
In August, / took one of the
grass roots and divided it into
twenty-eight parts, which
were immediately replanted :
every part took root, and the
whole are now growing Very
finely and feeding. lam of
opinion this grass will make
the best pastures we can wish

It is easily managed, requires
