Sixteenth, Proposals will alio
be received as aforefaitl, for the
supply of all rations, which may

be flationed, marched or re
cruited within the town of
Springfield in the state of Mas
sachusetts, and for the armour
ers and other persons employed
in the United States armoury at
thar place, from the ift day of

A ration to consist of one
pound and one quarter of Beef,
or three quarters of a pound of
pork, figtitern ounces of bread
or flour, one gill of rum, whis
ky or br.mdy, and at the rate of
two quarts of (ale,four quarts of
vinegar, four pounds of soap,
and one pound and a half of can
dles, to every hundred rations.

The Adjutant General will
again proceed to the duties re
quired of him by the 16th sec
tion of the militia law of this!
(late. In instances, however,
where manifeft inconvenience
will arise in convening the Field,
Staff and. company officers by re
giment, or where the objefl of
such convention can no: yet be
ftilly answered, the Brigadier
General cf each b-igade, in which
the difficulty may occur, will, in
lieu thereof, adopt such mode as
be ir*ay deem calculated
for the more. effectua’ly inflruft
ing those officers in 1 the and fcipline
