Wolf; a native of N York, aged 23, a comb-maker sty trade, and had been driven to the act for want of bu siness. A sublcription was.entered into for conveying him to his native country. The merchants of Ncw-York have almost unanimously agreed upon A memorial to Congress in favor of a bankrupt law. The ‘ship Augusta, capt lijfood, brings New. York dates to the 24th inst. The papers con tain little of interest. Daniel D. Tompkins esq. vice-president of the United States left New-York for Washington on the 21st. to take his satt as president of the sen- aie. Capt. Ad-erton from TencrilTe, informs, that on the 2d of November, in lat 24, 56, long. 26, he saw and passed within about 6 miles of a line of battle ship, and a schooner, steering south, un der press of sail, which he supposed to be the Franklin, 74 and her tender ihe Dolphin. The ship was ahead, though the weather was fine, tlie sea smooth, and the schooner hadall sails set. (The F.ranklin left Sandyhook on the 10th Oct.) *; A*. I’. Vaz. 22d ull.
