informing us of cures effected in their imme

it is one of the best, if not the eery bent

this has relieved the patient, ns Druggists,
dealers in Medicines, and Physicians can
testify. Ask the Agent in your nearest
town, what has beeirhis experience of the
effects of this medicine. If he has been
selling it for any length of time he will tell
you IT IS THE BEST MEDICINE EXTANT.
Below we give a few extracts from letters
we have received lately regirding the vir
tues of this medicine.
Dr. S. 8. Oslin, of Knoxville, Ga„ says:—

Tar vet y extensively in my practice for three
years past, and, it is with pleasure I state
my belief in its superiority overall other
articles with which I am acquainted, for
which it is recommended.”
Messrs. Fitzgerald & Benners, writing
from Waynesville. N. C. say :—*• The Liver
wort and Tar is becoming daily morepopu-

so. All who have tried it speak in com
mcndable terms of it, and say it is very
beneficial in allevinting the complaints for
which it is recommended "
Our Agent in Pickens Districts. C. Mr
S. R. McFall, assure-us “that he uses it
with great benefit in h sown family, and re
c uameads it to his neighbors.” He gives
an instance of a Negro woman, in his vicini
ty, who had been suffering with disease of
the Lungs for years, attended with severe
cough, who was relieve l by the Liverwor
and Tar.

the author having devoted his exclusive at
tention to the treatment of complaints pecu-
liarjtofemrde^in respeetto which he is yearly
consulted by thousands, both in person and
by letter.
Here every woman can discover, by com
paring her own symptoms with those de
scribed, the nature, character, causes of, and
the proper remedies for. her complaints.
The wife about becoming a mother has
of:eu need of instuction and advice of the
u' most importance to her future health, ii.
respect to which her sensitiveness forbids
consulting a medical gentleman, will find
such instruction and advice, and also explnin
many symptoms which otherwise would oc
casion anxiety or alarm, as all the peculiari
ties incident to her situation are described.
How many are suffering from obstructions
or irregularities peculiarto the female system,
which undermine the health, the effects of
which they are ignorant, and for which their
delicacy forbids seeking medical advice!—
Many suffer from prolapsus uteri ( falling of
the womb), or from Jluor albus (weakness,
debility, &c.) Many are in constant agony
for many mouths preceding confinement.—
Many have difficult, if not dangerous delive
ries, and slow and uncertain recoveries.—
Some whose lives are hazarded during such
time, will each find in its pages the means of
prevention, amelioration ana relief.
It is of oonrse impracticable to convey
fully the various subjects ; rented of, as they
are of a nature strictly intended Tor the mar
ried o.- those contemplating marriage.
In consequence of the universal popular!
ty of the work, as evidenced by its extraor
dinary sale, various impositions have been
attempted, as well on booksellers as on the
public, by imitations of the title page, spuri
ous editions, and surreptitious infringements
of copyright, and other devices and decep

FAIN KILLER,
STILL TRIUMPHANT,
A ND after a thorough trial by innumerable
living witnesses, has proved itself to be
THE MEDICINE OF THE AGE
Although there have been many medicinal
preparations brought before the pnblic since
the first introduction < f Perry Davis’Vegeta
ble Pain Killer, aud large amounts expended
iu their introduction, the Pain Killer has
continue I to steadily advance i;i the estima
tion of tbe world as the best Family Medi
cine ever introduced. As an internal and
external remedy it is truly a source of
JOY TO THE WORLD
One positive proof of its efficacy is, that
the sales have constantly increased, and
wholly upon its own merits, as tbe proprie
tors have not resorted to advertising to gain
for it the rank it now holds among the great
number of preparations of the present time
Tbe effect of the Pain Killer upon the pa*
tient, when taken internally in cases of
Colds, Cough, Bowel Complaints, Cholera.
Dyssentery and other affections of the sys
tem, has been truly wonderful, and has now
for it a name among medicinal preparations
that can never be forgotten. Its success in
removing pain, as an external remedy, in
cases of burns, bruises, sores, sprains, cuts,
sting of insects aud other causes of suffering,
has secured for it such a host of testimony,
as an almost infallible remedy, that it will
be handed down to posterity as one of the
greatest medical discoveries of the nine
teenth century. The magical effects of the
Pain Killer when tnkenor used according to
directions, are certain. You have only to be
sure that you buy tbe genuine article and
adhere to the directions in its use, and you
will admit its wonderful medicinal proper-
ties.
The genuine Perry Davis’ Pain Killer is
now put up in panel bottles, with the words
Davis’ Vegetable Fain Killer blown in the
glass ; and with two steel engraved labels
on each bottle—oue an excellent likeness of
Perry Davis, the Original inventor of tbe
medicine, the o‘her a steel engraved note of
