LONDON, January 21;
All Europe, faint with the loL of so
much blood and treasure, feels the ne
ceflity ot putting a speedy termination
to the war: and if we examine the iitua

we iliall easily difeover that the interests
of all oi them arc decidedly adverie to
the continuance of the contcit.
Alarms are in these days no novelty.
One of a moll terrific nature is laid to
have prevailed at court on Monday.
The idle rumour was, that apian had
’ocen laid to blow up the ball-room in
t the evening when their majeflies were
prelent; which induced the king’s min

Yeftrrday a meeting was held at the

containing the intelligence of the pre

result, wc under Hand to be, that all bar
gains made upon that speculation, were
to be considered as null and void,

LEXINGTON, Feb. 2,
By various parties who have been in
the woods hunting, we learn, that the
Indians who are now out on our I‘ton
tiei are friendly, and appear very hap
py in meeting with the white people,
and rendering them any her vice they
ponibly can.
In many of the. frontier towns in this
{late fthc Indians liave already come in
with their furs and peltry, in order to
! exchange them for articles which they
are in want of* they are well treated by
our inhabitants, and fay, that they re
ceive our commodities on better terms
than they have been accuflomed to front
the British traders.
This morning the gaol of this town
was broken. One white man a defer ter,
and two negroes made tlteirefcape from
it.
