INFORMATION being made to us, John
Bourrowes and Richard GaLoigne Esquires,
two of the Jußices assigned to keep the peace
for said county, by Randolph M‘Gillis, Esq.
Sheriff, for fa’id County. Isaac Clayton and
Abner Harr el, which had been taken by him
the said Sheriff : Said Clayton, on a charge,
by the oath ofWffliam Piowden, of having
feloneoufly taken, and carried away, Seven
head of Cattle, the property of laid William
Piowden, and said Harrell, charged by the
oaths of Nathan Atkinson and Wi liam Gor
mon, with having icloueofflly taken and carri
ed away, Six head 01 Cattle, the proper y of
the said Nathan Atkinson and William Gor
moa, appearing before John King and Thomas
King, Llquires, and us, after the urrcli 01 me
a for .fa id liaao, Clayton and Abner Harrell,
and in their presence, did (wear in the usual
form, that they did know and believe, that ihe
said 1 faac Clayton and Abner Harrell, had felo
neoitfly taken and carried away the alorefaid
Caule, the prop: r.y of the laid Piowden and
Atkinson, and the lad Isaac Clayton and Ab
ner Hirrell, being committed to the cuff >dyof
laid Sheriff, to be deposited in the Prifonof
Fort St. Tammany, in the charg” of the com
manding officer of said post, until a fufficient
gaol were made. After they had been com
mitted as ator. said, the said liaac Clayton and
Abner Harrell, feloneoufly broke the laid
Prison, and eloped from their confinement.
■ THESE are therefore to command all and
Regular, the Sheriff’s of this Rate, and all other
officers, both civil and military, and the Citi
zens thereof, throughout this Rate ; to be aid
ing and affißing the said Randolph M'Gillis,
Sheriff as aforefeid, in taking and f.curing the
laid Isaac Clayton and Abner Harrell, so that
they may b- dealt with as the taw direfits.
