G en tleman of the dates of South-Carolina and Georgia, who may wifti to become fubferibers, are requeued to fend for ward their names as soon as convenient, in order that the fubfeription may be closed. Mr. Eve will engage to deliv er the Machine, independent of the pow er that impels it, in Savannah) for fifty guineas. On Mr. Eve’s parr, he con tra&sthat this Machine will gin 3oolbs. of clean cotton per day, with a small impelling power either of wind, of wa ter, or of liorfes. This machine in a ’ few days, and with a trifling expence, can be attached to any machine in use for other purposes, such as rice machines, saw or grist mills. Mr. Eve will fend over a person competent to set them in motion, and fully to explain their fev sral powers. From foine small expe riments that have been made upon the green feed cotton it appears that from 150 to 20olbs. can be ginned in this machine per day. For further informa tion upon this iubjett I beg leave to re fer gentlemen to the undersigned certi ficate from a refpedtable Cotton Plan ter of this state, who has been an eye witness of the execution done by this machine, and to various certificates that have come out at different times in the Bahama papers, signed by the moil ref pedable Planters in that country. Fur ther particulars will be made known upon application from any gentleman who may wiih to become a subscriber. This machine has met with universal ap probation in every part of the Weil- Indies to which it has been sent. THOMAS SPALDING. GEORGIA , Chatham County. IDO certify, that, being on a visit for my health to New Providence, one of the Bahama Hands, I was induced to make an experiment on Mr. Eve's Cot ton Ginning Machine of the green feed cotton, commonly cultivated in the back country of the southern ilates, and sent to Savannah for a small quantity there of, which on experiment I found to afi fwer. The rainy season setting in a bout the time I received the cotton the whole was not ginned, but Mr. Eve as sured me his machine was competent, from, the calculation he had made, to clean out in good weather two hundred weight of clean cotton in the course of a day. The machine leparates the feed from the cotton by rollers without do ing any injury to the staple, and, from a sample of iced and cotton in poffcllion ’ oi the subscriber, any gentleman can be immediately convinced of the truth of this opinion. During my flay in Nas sau I frequently visited Mr. Eve’s ma chine which was impelled by wind, and never saw more than two people attend ing the fame, one a grown person and the other a finail boy. This machine is capable of being attached to almoil any of those used for various purposes in this country ; the con It ru ft ion appears by no means complex, and svery planter of consequence in the Bahamas is in the practice of using them. J. WALDBURGER. NOTICE. BY late trials made on my high land RED CLAY, much of it is found to be of fupe lior quality and capable of being wrought into BRICKS, not inferior to th'de imported from Philadelphia : Persons willing to contrast for a quantity, I will engage to furnifh them therewith, equal in quality to any imported from the northern states, on as moderate terms as those are purchased at, made in the neigh bourhood of Savannah.
