WHEN Lubin firft, with cunning tare, Attempted Phebe to ensnare, In language sweet His tongue so fleet, Difplay’d her beauties fine and pat j She fhak’d her head, And coyly laid, I know a Trick, worth two of that ! Come let me press thee in my arms, And let us taftc of love’s best charms, He try’d again, But all in vain, She sternly said, I’ll tell you what, ’Tis base in you, ‘Twill never do, Tknow a trick worth two of that 1 But, lovely Phebe, be not coy, My life, my love, my hope, my joy, For at the fair, I’ll treat thee there, V\\ buy my Phebe gay a hat; Ah Lubin now, You’re falle, I vow, I know a Trick worth two of that L No, by the God of love I swear, ’Tis you alone my heart Ihall (bare, My ardent love You now may prove; No longer here in dalliance chat— No, no, young tnan, That’s not my plan, tknow a Trick worth two of that! Should I consent to your embrace, ‘l'would be an endless vile disgrace, Besides, you know It happens so That nine months hence, there comes a brat; , And when that’s o’er Wpuld you adore ? You know a Trick worth two of that! Then cease to tempt a harmless maid, Who ne’re from virtue’s precepts ftray’d ; Your treat is mean, Your arts are seen, So take your answer plain and flat, I’ll nr,er defeend To filch an end, I know a trick worth two of that !
