military or usurped power.

ties or evidences of debt, title-deeds, wri- :
tings,money or bullion, are not deemed 6b- j

j VIII. Jewels,plate, medals, paintings,
statuary, sculptures and curiosities, are not.
deemed to be included in any Iniurance, :

IX. All pt rlbns insured by this compa
ny. and sustaining lots or damage by fire,
are forthwith to give notice thereof to tlie
Company ; and as soon after as possible to
deliver in a particular account of fach ftfs
or damage, ligned with their own hands,
I and verified by their oath 01 affirmation,
} and also, if raquired, by their hooks of ac*
j count and other pioper vouchers; they
(fliall also declare on oath, whether ap j and
what otlier insurance lias blen made on the 1
I lame property, and procure a certificate i
j under the hand of a mogiftrate, notary pub
lic,or Clergyman (mod contiguous to the
place of tlie fire, and not concerned pi the
lots) that they are acquainted with the
chara&er'and chctimflances of the person
or persons insured, the he, flic, or they,
really and by misfortune, without fraud or
evil prance, hath or have sustained by such
fee, lots and damage to the amount there
in mentioned ; and until luch proofs, dec

X. Payment of losses fliall be made in
