Measures will he procured as speedily as possible, of which due notice will be given. By order. \ july 19 Ik J. B. NORRIS, c. c. An Ordinance, Entitled, an Ordinance to regulate Weights and .Wear sures in this city. BE it ordained, by the Mayor and Aldermen of the city of Savannah, and it is hereby ordained by the authority of the same, That, from and immediately af ter the passing of this ordinance, it shall be the duty of the mayor, and he is hereby directed, to establish the standard weights and measures to be used in the city, and, after due notification, to distribute said weight# and measures upon application to him at the Police-of fice. And be it further ordained by the authority iforesahJ, That it shall be the duty of the marshal and other offi cers of said city, after said notification, and he and they are hereby required to inform against any person or persons using other weights and measures than, may b directed under this ordinance, who, when convicted be fore council, shall pay a fine of not exceeding thirty* dollars, one half to the informer or informers, and th® other moiety for the use of the city.
