Office of the Courier. ) Charleston, Nov. 14—8 p. m. $ Cotton. —No Sea Island Cotton of the new crop has yet been received, therefore nothing of con sequence has been done. Os Uplands, tne rise of the rivers furnished a heavy supply in the week, and the sales were very extensive, about 5000 bales, at prices about the same as last week—prin cipally at 9 1-2 a 10 cents for good to prime. We quote 9 a 10 cents for inferior to prime; very choice, in square bales, favorite marks, yet com nand 10 1-2 cents, though not so readily a* week previous. Rice. —The Rice market was also ver} anima ted ; a very considerable and rapid advance in price has taken place. The sales were made as fast as landed. We quote prime 3 1-2 a 3 3-4 ; inferior to good 2 3-4 a 3 3-4. The market, how ever, cannot be considered steady. Flour. —ln this article there has been considera ble improvement of price though unsteady. Sales of small lots to meet immediate wants have boon made at $9 1-2. Some holders ask $lO, and in one or two instances it has been obtained, but for such small lots as to be little better than retailing; therefore we only quote 9 1-2. Freights. —To Liverpool l-2d. ; to Havre 11-2 cents. To New- Fork at 75 cents for square, and $1 for round bags Cotton, and 75 cents for Rice. To Providence $1 a 1 1-4 for cotton; were the rates last paid, but more is now demanded Exchange. —On Boston, New-York and Philad. 10 days, par a 1-2 per cent dis.; 60 days, 1 1-4 a 1 1-2 per ct. dis. On England, 9 1-2 alO per ct. dis. Savannah and Augusta Bank Bills, 1 1-2 per ct. disc. North Carolina State, do. 3 per ct. dis. Cape Fear, do. 3 per ct. dis. Baltimore, Nov. 10. Flour still higher. —Flour was sold from the stores on Saturday at $9 25, and holders were asking towards the close of the day $lO per bar rel, and quite indifferent whether they sold at that price. It is, therefore, evident that the mar ket is far from being settled, and the intelligence by the Leeds, at New-York, from London, which we publish this morning on the subject of the European markets, will in no wise tend to estab lish a price at less than the asking one on Satur day.— The English ports were not open , nor any thing said on the subject of opening them at the latest dates. GRAIN has also advanced ama zingly within a few days: the best white Wheat sold quick on Saturday at $2 per bushel, and good red at $1 87 1-2 to $1 90.—Corn has been sold at 60 cents, and holders are asking 65 per bushel. In Rye there is not much doing.—Bread has also taken a considerable rise , unleavened as it is, and the article full high for the price of flour.—Whis key has advanced one to two cents per gallon, anti at present may be quoted at from 26 to 27 cents for Ist proof—holders careless about selling. We have no further alterations in our market to notice. New York, Nov. 8. Flour and Meal.— Advices from Liverpool to the 3d Oct. received per ship Brittania, and subse quently to the Bth Oct. from London, per ship Leeds, showing a considerable advance in the prices of bread stuffs in England, have produced a very animated demand here. From the period nf mir la4t reDOrt., of the ninmina nf the sth inst. to tne uiose o? DUBineao yesterday, the prxooa oC Wheat Flour advanced $1 50 a $2 per bbl. The principal sales yesterday, were at $9 50, embrac ing most of the various descriptions of southern Flour, without much regard to brands. Sales of western canal were made at $9 62 1-2; best brands at $9 87 1-2, and it was said, contracts for subsequent delivery were made at $lO Rye flour has also advanced, and sales made at $4 50 a $4 75. Extensive sales of corn meal were made at sls for hhds. and $3 50 for bbls. 150 bbls New Orleans Sour Flour, sold on the sth at $6, would probably have brought $7 or more yesterday. Cotton —The market continues very steady; the sales, for the last three days, comprise about 1000 bales of Upland at 9 3-4 a 11 cents, princi pally new crop—and 1000 bales of Alabama and New Orleans at 10 1-2 a 12 1-2 cents—making a total for the week of 2000 bales. The highest rates have only been given for home manufacture, except for one parcel at 11 cents, for the I rench market. “ OYSTERS rpHE Proprietors of the CITY HOTEL have JL engaged for the season, a competent person (Mr. TiTriTer) to furnish their Relish Room with Oysters, which will be served up in any way called O’ Orders from the country will be executed with dispatch, and of the best quality, having en gaged an experienced waterman to supply them, nov 19 *1 DISSOLUTION. rpHE Copartnership of Gifford & Bonney -I was dissolved, by mutual consent, on the Ist of June last.
