6th That ’he Rich Wjieel is wholly superior to

I will bet $ I,ouo that the discharge docs not ex

quantity discharged, unless reference is had to
the speed with which it runs off. For example ;
from the ordinary flutter wheel under 10 feet head

Bear in mind, thrretbre.that unless speed is re

3d. $5/00 to $1,500. that it don't discharge

ANOTHER SCIENTIFIC WONDER.
DR J. S, HOUGHTON’S PJEPSIN—
the true Digestive Fluid, or Gastric, Juice
Prepared from Rennet, or the fourth stomach of
the Ox, after directions of Baron Licbeg, the
great Physiological Chemist, by S. H. Houghton,
Al. D., Philadelphia, Fa.
This ;» a great natural Remedy for indigestion
and Dyspepsia, curing after Nature’s <wn meth
od, by Nature’s own Agent, the Ga-tric Juice.
Pepsin is the chief element, or great Digesting;
principle ol the Gastric Juice—the solvont of
the food, the purifying, preserving and sticonla--
ting Agent of the Stomach and Intestines. It
extracted from the digestive Stcmach the Ox w
thus forming an artificial Digestive fluid, pre
cisely like the natural Gastric Juico, iu its Chem
ical powers, and forming a complete and powerful
substitute for it. By the ata ot thu preparation,
the same pains and evils of IndigcMion and Dys
pepsia are removed, jus* as they would be by a.
healthy stomach, li is do ng wonders for Dys
pepsia, curing cases of debility, Emaciation, Ner
vous Decline, aud Dyspeptic Consumption, sup
posed io be on the verge of the grave. The Sci
entific Evidence upon which it is based, is in the
highest degree curious and remarkable.
Baron Liebig, in his celebrated work on Ani
mal Chemistry, says: “An Aitificral Digestive
Fluid, analagom U> the Gastric Juice, may be
prepared from the mucous membrane of the stom
ach of the Ox, in which various articles of food,
as meat and eggs, will be softened, changed, and
digested, just in the same manner as they would
be in the human stomach.”
Half a teaspoonful of pure Fepsin infused in
water, will digest or dissolve five pounds of Roast
Beef in about two hours out of the stomach.
Dr. Houghton’s Fepsin is sold by nearly the
dealers in fine and Popular- NLedieines
throughout the United States. It is prepared iu
Powder and in Fluid form—and in prescription
vials for the use o Physicians.
