CHARLESTON, June 27. Cotton— There was rather
an active demand for this article at one period during the
previous week, which was confined almost exclusively
to tin- better qualities, and holders during the excitement

the market subsequently relapsed in a quiet state, an* 1

revive*! on Saturday, and during the day upwards of
1100 bales changed hands. The terms established no de
rided change for the worse, but holders found it adiffi
cult mat ter to sustain their position. The market again
relapsed into a quiet state on Tuesday, and from that
time up to the close of the week, it has* exhibited a lan
guid and drooping appearance, ami closed, showing a de
cline of about £<-. on the very qualities which advanced
so heavily the preceding week. We have reduced our

below as representing the market at the present time.

A CURE FOR DYSPEPSIA.
SCIENTIFIC men have more difficulty in overcom
ing and controlling the various symptoms of Dyspep
sia, than almost any disease in the world. They are so
various in different individuals and cases, that it has
seemed impossible sometimes to obtain even temporary
relief from suffering. But a medicine has been discover
ed, which proves beyond a doubt, that in most cases a
permanent cure can be effected.
Dr. 11. E. Morrill, a skilful physician of New-York city,
in hi.-, remarks ou Dyspepsia, says : “ The most effectual
medicine to improve the tone and energy of the stomach,
is that prepared bv Dr. George B. Green, and ea the
OXYGENATED BITTERS.
1 would publish the recipe for preparing this valuable
medicine, if 1 knew what it was ; but as I do not, I can
only recommend its use. It seems to me to be improper
ly called 4 Bitters,’ at least in the popular acceptation of
that term—for it contains no alcohol or other spirit, and is
rather sour than bitter. Though here, by the way, I can
not but earnestly caution the dyspeptic sufferer against
using ‘ Bitters.' the basis of which is alcohol or other ar
♦lent spirits. They no more impart real energy to the
stomach than a whip gives strength to a horse. The
nlation which they excite! is only temporary, and
smv t<> be followed by a reaction, which at length will
inevitably wear out the stomach. The medicine of
which 1 am speaking, obviates these objections.”
We have no hesitation in pronouncing the BITTERS
a sure cure for Dyspepsia. None except those who
have suffered all the miseries of this disease, in its vari
ous forms, can appreciate the value of such a medicine.
Symptom-- of the most discouraging nature force the suf
ferer t believe that his case is so peculiar that no medi
