SaocKixo Accidxmi.—We learn from the Con

Cobb’s LaeteN.—An officer in Cobh’s Brigade,
says the Columbus Sun, represents that about 600
of Cobb’s Legion were taken prisoners at the bat

prisoners is Captain T. U. Camak, who was Bup
posed to have been killed.
Et Qovernor William H. Smith, Colonel at the

So hones were, however, broken. Coi. Smith,

active service in the field ever since the first skir

General Howell Cobh was wounded in Hus sa n«

I understand some of the Bnnte lefuse to re
ceive on deposit certain Confederate notes, under
the pretext of apprehensions that they maybe
counterfeit. I say pretext, because any and all
banks or treasury notes may be counterfeit
Those refused—twenties, fifties, and hundreds, of
the Buyer 4 Ludwig plate—can be better Vested
than any other, aa tbe counterfeit marks are so
well known. I apprehend that these unpatriotic
Banks are only leeling the strength of public in
dulgence, preparatory to refusing all Cou ederate
notes.
As lb.-Banks gave tbs Confederate antes cur

Confederate doLs would increase in number with

and carried a very suc-ng position at Mount Zion

magnificent position, manned by ten thousand of
the enemy, many of them perfectly fresh, and
carried it .□ fifteen minutes. It is impossible for
ale now to give you the exact results o: these glo

thut of the enemy, many hundred killed and
wounded, and sarera! thousand prisoners. We
have captured ait, fiery, small arras and wagons,

Our Government has no right to abandon thcae

is a retaliation—so severe ns to compel the rebel
Government to abandon its brutality. Twice the

some thought to the protection of cur own cit zans

We have been informed that there ia a band cf

else suits their fancy or desires—selling what thev
do not use—thus causing great inconvenience,
and in many instances serious loss and suffering,

that they make these seizure* for the Confederate

never been mustered into tbe Confederate service,
