What will he try next ? Why we sup* po.se be will manufacture a bulletin, iu which he will announce the most splendid success, and which will set the whole semi-barbarian generation represented by him and bis army to screaming, dancing, throwing up their hais and shouting for old Abe. That is all he has done since he has been in command of the nr-* my, and it is pretty much ail that he can ex pect to do hereafter. But that will not take Richmond, although it may, and no doubt will, assiit greatly in electing Lincoln. The *udcii n ahnriJontnent of Fort Harmon l»y our troops was a sad affair. It proves that rone but tried veterans ought to lie entrusted with the defense of outposts, liable at all times to tie suddenly attached and to be over* whelmed before the arrival of assistance. The Yankees will represent the capture of thlj post as a great victory of course. But time will show whether it la or uot. —liichmond Virpatth. From tub Umtkd States. —The Yankee pa* per* are rather uniuterestiug just now. Dttes as late us the .It; h coouiu nothing ol impor* tame. The opeuiug sales were at 212, from which there was a rapid decline to 20ljj, then a mo*, tnentary dip still lower, and a sate in one in stance at 200. An immediate rally took place, and the price at half-past three had reached 200 J ; but shortly before five o’clock it had dropped again to 2025@203 Later in the eve* pin?, at the up-town • xchange, it sold iti low 199 J. and was freely cffered at 2'M). .
