The recent settlement and rapid improvement

deemed a auffic.ent apology in the estimation of

one already in operation, in that pert of tho

totally abtndoned, and the undersigned has to

the Editorial department of the Western Herald.
In entering upon the discharge ofthe important
datte* incumbent on him in that capacity, he i*
only consoled with the reflection that hie feelings
are well understood by all those who have gooe
before him, beating their way through the laby-

cewfully to the various want, and inclinations of
the great mass of those who may from time to
time, look to this harbinger, for pleasing intelli
gence of the passing times.
