Agreeably to previous arrangeineiils, the fal
lowing officers were elected: Cupt. Moses Gunn,
Chaplain. Ensign Jolm H. Garrett to read the
Declaration of Independence, Henry C. Bird.
Esq. President, Thomas J. Hnrrell 1st Vice Pres
ident, Lieutenant Sotonel Jeter, 2d Vice Prcsideul
and Jolm Bytier Esq. Marshall of the day. At
sunrise, a plumon ul thirteen ijuns were fired and
thirteen in bruken order :5 minutes intermission
and a plnttnon of 20 guns were fired. At eleven
o'clock, tite company repaired to a suitable place,
where tite Chaplain delivered a few appropriate
renisrk*. and concluded by prayer to Almighty
God; after which the Declaration of Indepen
dence was read, and sululvd by n plnttoun of 20
guns; the company then ptuceeded near a cool
spring, where a suitable Butbucun was prepared
