It is ’expected that every one subject to mus ter will attend with the best arms at his command, that some reliable infor mation may be obtained as to the num ber and fitness of our weapons to repel the Toe from our native soil, if he shall dare land his invading vandals (scion our coasts. It is desirable that «t the above places and times, as many as can do so, will volunteer for the for mation of a Regiment, from the gal lant men comprising this Brigade, to enter the State service for one year, subject to be disbanded however al ■any time, it their service should not be needed for the year. Soldiers you love your country, and among the best ri demen in the world. We can furnish (he best Regiment in Georgia. Let us do so without awaiting the disgrace ful process of a draft. A’iley sheweth that heretofore, to-wit, on the 'lsth of April 1861, Walter B Smith, then of said county, made and delivered ’to your petitioner his certain instrument 'in writing called a promissory, whereby Ihe promised on or by the second day ■ of May next thereafter, to pay your peti- I tioner or bearer, one thousand and eighty- four dollars and 71-100 dollars for value . received.
