ry Elam, and who says that he is a free man. an I was
hound to a m in by the name of German or Gilbert.
Stokes, at the age of 5 years, who lives in Rocking
ham couniy, N. C. He also states that he was robbed
ol all his money and papers in the state of South Car
olina. The said n<- gro is about 21 years of age,
weighing about 145 or 150 rounds * yellow complec
ted, no scars or marss visible on him ; he is about 5

Notes viz: Four notes of hand, for Fifiy Doha's
each, and ones r tine Hundred Dollars, due six
months afier date ; two notes of hand for one Hundred
each, due rune months after date ; two notes of hand
for One Hundred each, due twelve mon'hs afier date.
All the above notes, drawn bv Jacob Frig e, dated
September 30th. 1840,and payable atthe Bank of Co
lumbus, to my order, and endorsed. These notes are
mv property, and payment will be refused to anv other
person. Also, two notes of hand drawn by mvse'f,
payable to the order of.and endorsed by Jaeob Fogle,
for one hundred dol ars each, daied as above and due
twelve months after date. These two noteshaving
been paid, I shall use all legal means to resist the sec

your petitioner. his certain deed of mortgage, bearing
dale the day and year aforesaid, and witnessing that
the said James Ennis had on that day, made and de
livered to your petitioner, his five certain prom.ssory
notes, subscribed w.th his own hand, and bearing
even date with said mortgage deed, w hereby the sad

Creek Nation, under the style of George Y\ . Dilling
ham Ik Cos. i lie Company is to be composed of ihe
so lowing persons: G. YY’. Dillingham, D. K. Dodge.
Luilier Blase, Columbus AJills and Fielding Scrog
gins, to l-.ave each a full share—the purchases of said
lands to he made by Altlls and 81.-ke, and t. be certi
fied in the name of G. W. Dillingham & Cos., L.
Blake & Cos., F. Scroggins & Go., or G. Mills is Go.
The money lo effect the purchases is to he furnished
by Dillingham and Dodge, the other members of said
Company proportions, to be taken out ol the proceeds
of (lie lands wlten sold, which sales and all oilier
ihings relating to the business ol said Company, must
he made by aud with the consent of a majority ol said
Company. In all questions touching the general in
terest and concern of the company, a majority’ shall
govern, each having an equal vote. Should a/iv of
the Company die before a tinal close of the business,
the survivors shall go on and close the business of the
company, by disposing of the lands and oilier effects
of the Company with or without the consent e.f the
representative or representatives of the deceased par
ly or parties, hut the full share shall be paid lo his
lepreseniatives.

on one of S1 o ; and one note for £35. on Willis Kirbv;
the five first notes payable to Lodowick Mathews or
bearer, due 25th December last, date not recollected ;
the lasi note payable to the subscriber, and dated and
due within the month of February.
The makers of ihe above described notes are notifi
ed not to pay the same to any other person than my
self, and a reasonable reward will be given to any
person giving information necessary to obtain them
as also to discover the thief.
