THE CELEBRATED HORSE,
ROBIN HOOD,
WILL stand the ensuing season, one half of his
time at my stable, nineteen miles above Colum
bus, in Russell county, Ala., and the other part of his
time at Lafayette, Chambers county, Ala., and will be
let to mares at the reduced price ol Fifty Dollars, due
25ih of December next. Mares sent over thirty
miles will bo fed tno months gratis. Persons failin
to get.a colt in the Spring, will be allowed the Fal
season gratis, if the mares are sent to niv stable. Ah
care will be taken to prevent accidents and escapes
but no liabilities for either.
As to Room’s performances on the turf, a reference
to ’lie Stud Book ortho Spirit of the Times, will give
entire satisfaction. It is also due him tosay, that his
colls,so far as trials have been made, have been sur
passed bv none in the United States.

THE Planters’ Bank of the State of Georgia, hav
ing im nediafely after the robbery of its vault,
adopted means to take up from all honest holders the
notes signed by J. Marshall, Cashier, and George W.
Anderson, President, hereby gives notice that almost
the entire amount of that issue, now unredeemed, con
sists of the notes stolen from the Bank. The public is
warned against receiving any note signed by J. Mar
shall, Cashier, and Geo. Anderson, President, as
payment will he refused, unless the most satisfactory
explanation of the mannei of its being received, as
well as the person from whom rece'ved.
Anew issue has been made, signed by 11. W. Mer
cer, Cashier, and George W. Anderson, President,
which will be redeemed as heretofore.

at the corner of Oglethorpe and Bryan streets,
to the buildings diagonally opposite, above Calhoun’s
Warehouse. He avails himself of this opportunity to
return his thanks to his friends and the public general
ly,for the liberal patronage heretofore extended to him,
and hopes by continued exertions and constant endeav
ors to please, to merit a continuance. Transient cus
tomers and regular boarders will be accommodated
prices as low as circumstances will permit. Horses

: PjSAHE subscriber, residing in Columbus, Georgia
JEL lost about a momh since, a valuable negro man
for the apprehension of whom in any secure jail so
that he can get him, lie will give twenty-five dollars ;
and it ihe said negro man has been deemed away by
any white person, or been furnished with tree papers,
(neither of which is- improbable) he viill give, in addi
tion, fifty dollars, if sufficient evidence of that fact, be
communicated to liirn to ensure the conviction of the
guiity person.
Said negro is about 2S years of age. of small stature,
and named Elije. lie is believed to have never shav
ed. and his appearance, in consequence, is somewhat
singular, the hair being long on his upp- r lip. “When
spoken to, he almost invariable’ puts lii-s fincpr to the
side of his? head, and scratches his hair, and his spet ch
is accompanied by a slight hesitancy. He has tl ••
marks o( a gun shot, just above the knee, in the right
thigh, it. is thought; the bone was factored, and the
wound is still visible. The negro, when lie said any
thing about running away, which he occasional
ly did, mentioned Tennessee as the direction of Ins

bright mulatto, about 30 years of ago, 5 feet, 8 inches
high, thick-set and well made, ami is well known in
Augusta,having formerly belonged to Samuel Hale,
Esq. of that City. Lewis when lie left Columbus
was riding a grey horse. The above reward will be
