twelfth day ot May, in tho year of our Lord eighteen
hundred and forty-five, one Philander Thompson
execute! and delivered to ycur petitioner Ins
written mortgage deed in writing under his hand and
sea!, and for tho better stewing the said Seymour
Ca'chings in the payment of a written promissory
note therein described, bearing date oa the 27th day
February, eighteen hundred and forty-five, whereby
the said Plrilander Thompson and ycur petitioner for
value received promised to pay John Ball or ordor
one hundred and eighty-five dollars and eighty-four
cents, on demand ; And for the better securing the
payment of the aforesaid promissory note, tho said
Thompson bargain* and, sold, and conveyed by said
mortgage deed to your petitioner ail that tract or par
cel of land, situate, Ijiug at and being ui the eleven h
(11th) district of now Kadtfolph county, and known
and distinguished as lot number two hundred and
forty-seven (247.) containing two hundred and two
and a half acres, more or less.
And your petitioner avers, that in default cf said
Thompson paying sai-J note he has paid off and dis
charged ihe same, and that the full amount cf princi
pal and interest of said pronvssary note is sti.l due
and unpaid to him [ f our petitioner.] whereupon your
petitioner prays that a Rule nisi may be granted re
quiring tho said Philander Thompson to pay the
principal and interest due on said note into the Clerks
Office of the Superior Court of thi3 Ceunty on or be
ore the first day of the Term of this Court, and
that his equity of redemption in and to the mortga
ges premises bo forever barred and foreclosed. &c.

1 OFFER for sale, that beautiful farm, lately own
