~TYLER'S AGUE AND FEVER PILLS. ~-
NO CURE NO PAY.
A CERTAIN, safe and es factual care for
Ague and Fever, in all its varied forms. Al
so, an excellent Tonic in Dyspepsia, Palpitation
ofthe Heart, Loss of Appetite, Neuralgia, Nerv
ous and other diseases, w hich arise trout a weak
and debilitated condition of the system. *
These pills are prepared by Dr. U. K. Tyler, a
regularly educated physician, who from many
years experience, can confidently recommend
them as the Lest remedy for Ague and Fever ever
offered to the public ; having frequently tested
their great curative power upon those who had
long suffered under the troublesome and danger
ous diseases.
Several eminent physicians who have obtained
a high standing for their successful treatment of
Ague and Fever, nse this preparation, and assert
that they have never known a single instance
where it waa taken as directed, that it did not
effect a permanent and lasting cure.
These pills contain neither mercury or arsenic,
nor any thing that can injure the system —but on
the contrary, may be taken where a medicine of
this kind is needed, not only with perfect safety,
but w ith the most decided advantage.

DR. GORDON S PILLS art’ truly the sick
man's friend. No Traveller or Family
sißMild be without them. Their trmtdv adminis
tration will prevent much pain and suffering, aud
save many valuable lives.
These Pills were compounded by Dr. Gordon
after years of study and careful observation upon
the nature of different medicines, and the effect
which they produce upon different constitutions
n various forms of disease. They have been ex
tensively used by some of opr most eminent
Physicians, and by many private families for sev
eral years; and such has been the satisfaction
•which they have given, that it is firmly believed
that the vegetable kingdom does not furnish any
materials for a purgative medicine,, which sur
passes forgenera! use, those of which these pills’
recomposed. They do not contain Calomel,
Mercury or any mineral preparation ; but are
composed entirely of concentrated vegetable
extracts, carefully prepared and so combined as
to be Certain, Safe, and Easy in their operation
—should it be otherwise, the stomach and bowels
contain foul and acrid bilious matter—showing
_-re.it necessity for pnrgative medicine.
Toe Bowels being the principal channel through
which a great portion ofthe impurities of the sys
tem are it ts evident that whatever
acta beneficially on them must be conducive to
health.
If a ph ystcian is called to a patient, what is the
first thing done t He prescribes a dose or two cf
purgative medicines; and then, after a day or
two, if the patient is no better, he gives him an
other dose of purgative medicine, and so on ; do
ing some other little things—but the main reli
ance for a cure is upon the effect produced by
purgative medicines. Therefore ifyou are sick
delay not, but take a few doses of Dr. Gordon's
Vegetable Family Pills, and be again restored to
health. For salebv

Nervous System, and a
disordered Habit of
Constitution generally.
Dr. and IFild Cherry Bit
ters have already, by their substantial excellent,
won a degree of public favor and
which puts them beyond the need of recommen
dation. Being faithfully prepared of the most
excellent materials, they can be foMy confided in
bv ail in need of a tonic, aperient or alterative
remedy. ‘Sarsaparilla takes a high rank among
Physicians aud all others in the list ol curative
agents, and it is this fact which has rendered it so
deservediv popular all other medic.nes of
the day. In Dr. IFood's standard preparation, it
is warranted to be found in great purity and
strength, and gaining much by its union with the
IFild Cherry, a tome of the first order. This
kappv combination is the only one ever made of
these artiele. and founded as it is on the best
medical principles, and their virtues extracted by
a rigid chemical analysis, experience has shown
its unusual power and efficacy.
This preparation will be found on trial, to be a
sure and speedy remedy for the diseases enumer
ated above. They parity the blood, secure regu
lar digestion, promote a healthy action of the
Liver and Stomach, and strengthen the nerves,
-at once securing health k vigorto the whole sys
tem. In all cases of despondency, arising from
Indigestion or Nervous irritation, they have been
used with remarkable success ; nor are they less
useful as a remedy for Headache, Fiatuleftcy,
Loss of Appetite, and a general prostration of the
system. At the same time, it must be stated, that
they are neither violent nor at all dangerous in
their operation, securing as they do the desired
end, by a steady, regular and easy influence. —
Taken daily, in doses prescribed, they will be
found to operate in that gentle and salutary
manner, which is, in fact, their highest recom
mendation.
The following certificates, among many others
which have been received from the most respect
able sources, furnish satisfactory proof of the
value and efficacy of this highly popular medi
cine.
Sandwich, Sept- 4, 1544.
Mr. E. Thornton, Jr.
Dear Sir:—This is to certify, that my daughter
has been troubled with Dyspepsia for a number of
years, attended with almost constant headache
and other distressing symptoms which accompa
ny the disease. She visited Boston to avail .her
self of the advice of the justly celebrated physi
cians of that city, ail to no purpose. By the soli
citation of a friend, I-was induced to purchase a
bottle of Dr. Wood’s Sarsaparilla and Wild Cher
ry Bitters. Before taking one bottle she was re
lieved entirely ofthe headache, and after two or
three bottles, the other symptoms entirely disap
peared. N B GIBBS.
New Bedford, August 19, 1544.
Dear Sir, —It is with much pleasure that I add
my testimonial to the many which you have, of
the value of your Sarsaparilla and Wild Cherry
Bitters. I have nsed them in my family with the
happiest result—l have recommended them to
others, who hate nsed them with equal snccess.
In one case in particular, of DYSPEPSIA oflong
standing attended with severe Head Ache, which
had resisted all treatment, I was ENTIRELY
CURED by the use of these bitters. I shall al
ways take great pleasure in recommending them
to all persons suffering from any of the diseases
arising from Indigestion, Dyspepsia, and impuri
ties ofthe blood.
G MACOMBER.
New Bedford, Aug. 10, 1544.
Dear Sir, —I find Dr. Wood’s Sarsaparilla and
Wild Cherry Bitters ail that you recommended
them to be, and take great pleasure in saying,
that I think them the best preparation of the
kind ever offered to the public. I have been
tronbled for a longtime with JAUNDICE, and a
derangement of the Stomach, attended with bead
tche and Vertigo, which was so bad at times that
I could not see, and think that I am entirely cur
ed by the use of these Eitters. I have used them
in my family, and would recommend them to
ivory one suffering from Jaundice, Ixdigestios,
and Head Ache. Signed,
JOHN BAYLIES.

The respectability of gentlemen in this town

their personal knowledge, derived from the use
of this Compound of Sarsaparilla and Wild Cher

value of these extracts to these suffering from
Dyspepsia, Jaundice, Indigestion, Headache, or
Scrofulous diseases. When a medicine has been
known to effect cures in certain casts, no recom
mendation is needed, other than a simple state
ment of facts. To those, then, who are liable to
any complaints for which the Sarsaparilla aud
\\ i’d Cherry Bitters are advertised as a remedy we

Du. Swayre—Dear Sir.—ln JMirch last I
caught a very heavy cold which settled on my
lungs, attended with a hard, dry cough, pains in
the side and breast, tightness and oppression in
the chest. I neglected taking any medicine, ex
cept the usual simple remedies, which persons
in indigent circumstances like myself generally
resort to, when I became quite alarmed and ap
plied to my family physician. He treated me
several months, but I received no benefit; in
fact I gradually grew worse. I had profuse
night sweats, skin dry and parched no appetite,
suffered much with thirst, occasionally spitting
blood, until my physician, as well as my
pronounced me going into a deep decline.—
Some of my friends recommended one medioine,
some another, and would show me long certifi
cates of purported cures, many of which I thought
suited to my case exactly, but from their effect
upon me I despaired ever recovering my
but gave myself up to die of that scourge of the

The Editor of the Philadelphia Forum thus

“Valuable Article. —Scarpa’s Acoustic Oil is

as it does, from a man so extensively known as is
Mr. Graeflf, both in the city and country:
“I hereby certify, that from the effects of a
severe cold last winter, I became partially deaf,
attended with very disagreeable noises, like
ringing ofbells, &c., which gradually increased,
until I completely lost the hearing of one ear—
when I was induced to use Scarpa’s Acous
tic Oil, and am now happy to say, that with’
the use of one bottle of the above medicine, I
can hear as well as ever, and ail disagreeable
noises have entirely disappeared. Any further
information r'espectiag my case, will be gladly
given, by calling on me at 45j North Fifth street,
near Race..

by any medicine. It never fails!
From the Albany Daily Knickerbocker.
West Troy, June 3, 1844.
This is to Certify that I, Willard Jenks, pro
prietor of the West Troy Exchange Hotel, hav
ing been affected with deafness in one ear for
the last tweitv years, and in the other for the
last year, so that it was impossible for me to
hear the loudest voice, and after trying various
. remedies without improving my hearing in the
least, I was induced to try Scarpa’s Compound
acc ou stic Oil for the cure of Deafness, and it is
with great gratification I am enabled to state that
it has perfectly restored my bearing, and I wifi
be happy to see any person who wishes for in

ALLHEALIXG OINTMENT.
THE prfffdiflf figure is ?lvfn to represfut
the Insensible PerspTraJiun. It is the great
evacuation tor the the body. It
will be noticed that a thick cloudy mist issues
from all points of the surface, which indicates
that this perspiration flows uninterruptedly when
we are in health, but ceases when we are sick.
Life cannot be sustained without it. It is thrown
off from the blood and other juices ol the body,
and disposes by this means, of nearly all the im
purities within ns. The language of Scripture is,
Pin the blood ts the life.” If it ever becomes im
pure, it may be traced directly to the steppage
of the insensible perspiration. Thus we see, all
that is necessary when the blood is stagnant, or
infected, is to opeu the pores, and it relieves
itself from all impurity instantly. Its own beat
and vitality are sufficient, without one particle
ofmedicine, except to open the pores upon the
surface. Thus we see the folly oftaking so many
internal remedies. All practitioners, however,
direct their efforts to restore” the Insensible
Perspiration. The Thompsonian, for instance,
steams, the Ilydropathist shrouds us in wet blan
kets, the Homopathist deals out infinitissimals,
the Allopathist bleeds and doses us with mercury
and the blustering Quack gorges us with pills,
pills, pills.
To give some idea, of the amount of the In
sensible Perspiration, we will state that the lear
ned Dr. Lewenhock, ascertained that five-eights
of all we receive in the stomach, passed off by
this means. In other words, if we eat and drink
eight pounds per day, we e rcuate live pounds
of it by the Insensible Perspiration.
This is none other than the used up particles
of the blood, and other iuice3 giving place
to the new and frc*h ones. To check th.s, there
fore, is to retain in trie system five-eights of all
the virulent matter that Mature demands should
leave the body.
By a sudden transition from heat to cold, the
pores, are stopped, tiie perspiration ceases, and
disease begins at once to develope itself.—
Hence, a stoppage of this of the juices, or
iginates so many complaints. Nine tenths of the
world die from disease induced by a stoppage of
the Insensible Perspiration.
Let me ask, now, every candid mind, what
course seems the most reasonable to pursue,
to unstop the pores, after they are closed. —
Would you give unstop the pores Or
would you apply something that w ould and > this
upon the surface, where the clogging actually is?
And yet I know of no physician who makes any
external application to effect it. Under these
circumstances, I present to physicians, and to
all others, McAllisters,, All Healing Ointment
or the World's Salve. It has power to restore
perspiration on the feet, on the head, around
old sores, upon the chest, in short- upon any part
of the body, whether diseased slightly or severe
ly. It has power to all external soies,
scrofulous humors, skin diseases, poisonous
bounds, to discharge their putrid matter, and
then heals tfrem. It is a remedy that sweeps off
the whole catalogue of cutaneous disorders, and
restores the entire cuticle to it3 healthy functions.
It is a remedy that forbids the necessity of so
many and deleterious drugs taken into the stom
ach. I have used it for the last fourteen years
for all diseases of the chest, consumption, liver,
involving the utmost danger and responsibility,
and I declare before Heaven and mam, that not
in one single case has it failed to benefit, when
the patient was within the reach of 193 ml means.
I have had physicians, learned in the profes
sion, I have had ministers of the Gospel, judges
on the bench, Aldermen and
men of the highest erudition and niu!t!nicies of
the poor, use it in every variety of way, and there
has been but one voice—one united and univer
sal voice—saying “McAlister, yoy Oointment is
good.
Headache- The Salve has cured per
sons of the Headache of 10 years standing, and
who had it regularly every week, so that vomit
ing often took place.
Deafness and Ear Ache are helped wieh like
success.
Cold Feet. It is a sure sign of disease in
the system to have cold feet. The Salve will
cure every case.
In Scrofula, Erysipelas, salt Rheum, Liver

Bronchitis, Broken or Sore Breast, Piles, all
Chest Diseases, such as Asthma, Oppression.

Its first action is to er:pel all humor. It will

Worms. If parents knew how fatal most

would be slow to resort to them. Especially

one can tell, invariably when worms are present.
Now lei me say to parents that this Salve will
always tell if a child has worms. It will drive
every vestige of them away. (Read the direc

Old S‘rev That seme sores are an outlet j
to impurities of the systore is, because they can
not 0133 off through the natural channels of the
1 Insensible Perspiration. If such sores are healed
up the impurities must have some other outlet,
or it will endanger life. This saile will always
provide for such emergencies.

this good Ointment be used and esteemed.—

In the year isl 9, while at sea on the brig

spent in the country to make a fair trial ofSwain's
Panecoa; but even that popular medicine failed

ippiicd to the most eminent surgeon in New
York city, and I was for a considerable time un
der his care w ithont any particular benefit.
From that time until ]s-14, there was no change
or the better i and during that year, while in
Baltimore iry leg was slightly injured by a rail
road car, winch caused the ulcers to rage with,
tenfold violence. I applied to a physician, who,
uler exhaling his in Tain, said “ the un
sound timber must be removed, or he could not
keep the craft much longer afloat!” Not liking
to part with an oid shipmate, however trouble

however, bevijjje so much worse that the ulcers
extended from my foot almost to the kHce, laying
bare the bone, so exceedingly sore that I ebuid
not bear even wilted plaKaia leaves, or the most

Thus matters stood i October last, w-her for
your gratification I commenced with Dr. Cullen's
Indian Vegetable Panacea, with little faith, I’

T'O relieve and to core suffering humanity Ir
a moat important and interesting undertaking,
in a matter of suck vaA moment, where health,

It gives us great pleasure to speak thus publio

long time was severely affiicted w ith that most
loathsome and unyielding disease, the Scrofula,
so much so that the superior half of his person
was awfully disfigtrred; the ravages of the com
plaint having curried away his nose, palate, and
lip, and filled his throat with ulcers.
This most distressed individual, we
to say, has been entirely cured of j,.s disease by
the omnipotency of “Dr. Cullen’s Indian Vegeta

the most wonderful cures of Scrofula ever per
formed on a human being.
hare been induced to notice the matter

important that it should be known !
It is our deliberate judgement th :t the Panacea
in question, is destined to rise-to very great im-
portance in the medical world. We regard it as
a pleasurable duty to give publicity to this most
invaluable remedy. And who that is suffering
from the health and life -destroying disease refer

such reasonable terms.
