An invaluably pre cious doctrine this, as it imparts oil important lesson to the apparently heulthy of both sixes, teaching them that this insidious foe may lie an unobserved inmate of their “clayey houses,” even while they imagine themselves secure from its attacks, teaching them (hat the great secretin the art of preserving health is to pluck out the disease while in the blade, and not wait till the full-grown ear. One ease—a young man, in the last stages of Consumption, given over by his physician, lias been taking it only a few weeks and IS now utile to walk and ride out. Before lie took the Sana ive he waa unable to get out of bed and his death was hourly expected But to the astonishment f his friends lie was soon able to leavthisbed, and to lie out as before stated. The Company have five new STEAM BOATS, commanded by first rate Captains, vix: J. BTONE, - Capt. W.C Mendall, CHIEFTAIN, - • Geo. Wilcox, EXCEL, - “ G. Quinn, SUPERIOR, - W F Johnson, J. GODDARD, “ L. L. Wilcox. Also, sixteen first rate TOW BOATS, built expressly for the navigation of Alalamnha and Ocamulgee Rivers. The J. Stone is s side wheel Boat, low pres sure engine, carries 7UO bales of cotton, and runs regularly three times a week, between Savannah and Darien. The Chieftain is aside wheel Boat, and carries 500 or 600 hales ot cotton, runs regularly between Darien and Charleston, and between Savannah dkCharlsa ton. The Excel, Superior and J. Goddard, run regularly between Darien and Macon, towing two boats each. One of them will leave Dari en regularly every three days—the usual time of passage up is fiv* or six days. This line is connected with a line of seggn packets running regularly hetween New York and Darien. Any goods or produce shipped to their agents, orofdered to be shipped by their’ line, will be forwarded with despatch. The company, thankftil for the patronage they have received, have increased their means of con veyance largely, and pledge themselves to use every exrtlon to fsriltate the interests of those who may ship by their line. Ur it enartrd by the Senate and Hon se o Itr pteaeniativr* of tbr Elate of Georgia in general assembly met, ami it is hereby rnortrd by the au thority of the same, That the first Monday in April, eighteen hundred and thirty-nine, br, and the same i* tier* by designated and set apart as the day on which the citizen* of Georgia, qualified to vote for member* of the Legislature, shall at the several pla er* [.rearriled by law for holding such election*, rot* fie delegates lo rrpreoenl them in convention, in n—nber equal U> their representation in both bran rhea of the General Assembly, according to their last census : *tr It elect ton to hr conducted, managed, and certified under the same laws as are of force in respect to elections of members of the Grneral As sembly. See. 4. And be it further enacted, Thai each mem ber returned aa duly elected, shall previous, to taking his seat in said ronvention, lake the following oath or affirmation, viz: I do solrmly swear that I will not attempt to add or to lake from llie constitution, or attempt to change or alter any otlter section, clause or article of the con stitution of the state of Georgia, other than those touching the representation in the General Assembly thereof, and that I have been a citizen of this state for the last three years, so help me God. And any person elected to a seat in said convention, who shall refuse to take the oulii uforesairf shall not be allowrd to lake his seal in said convention. See. 5. And lie it furtlirr enacted, That the mem liers of said convention shall assemble outlie first Monday in May, after ihrqgleeiion, at Milledgeetlle, in the Representative Chamber of the Blo|g House, fur the purpose of entering iqion and consummating the great objects of their eon—niioM, to wit: a reduc tion and equalization of the General Assembly : shall have power lo prescribe their own rules and forms of business ; and lo determine on the qualifi cations of thru own members ; elect necessary offi cer* and make all order* which they may dc*m con ducive to the furtherance of the object for which such convention shall assemble. And be it further enacted, That it shall he. a fundamental article in the formation or amend ment* of ihe Convention, that raeh County of the State now organized or laid out, or which may here after be created by law, shall be r muled to at least one Repres. nlaiive in the Ki-presrniative branch of ihe General Assembly. The Senate shall be compo sed of forty six member*only,from (forty-six) Sena , torial Districts, composed of two coin igious Counties, and in the even! of I he creation of any newCeuinlt, it shall be added to some contiguous Senatorial Di - trict; and that the said Convention shall not disltub the Federal basts, in apjionioning the representation in the General Assembly of ihe Slate of Georgia. Sec. 8. IN the year of 1824 or 1825 an individual calling himself Jones, sometimes Davis, but generally Summers, persuaded a young lad abe at Bor 9 years af age, whose paresis resided in Charleston, S. C. to accompany him, and finally succeeded. He took the boy to Tatnall County, Georgia, and the circum stances becoming known to the citizens there, the vouth was detained. His name is CwurroniEß WEDrxGC* stp—and at present resides in Tatnall county, Geo. He is very desirous to ascertain if hia parents, or any of his relations are living. Any information concerning them will be grateful ly received.
