Peters’Vegetable Pills are the sr.f. st, n,r ;s;
effectual, and economical remedy for <h.- : .
of the human constitution, that has evei 1... .
discovered. Dr. Peters, the inventor <d' t’<.
i valuable medicine, from his kaowi. dge of iht
: human system, derived from a I. ng and ••a;- .
I sive practice, has arrived to this conclu-i'm, t.bm
! the great nnd primary cause of most 'ts-as. : -
| a derangement in the functions of the Liver; o'
i in other w'-rds an increased or diminished s -
cretioi: of the Bile.
So w; 11 is ties midci st. od that it is comm. r.
| for [rrsems to stiy wl.t u thev f el unwell, thal
: they are billions, u ; aning that they have too
niucli l.ili* in the stomr.eh. On the oilier hand,
who;: the flow bile is diminished, the process
of’digesticTi is imperfectly performed, the patient
bee antes weak and emaciated, because nourish
ment contained in the food taken into the sto
mach is not properly extracted, am! the food is
ej< cled in a crude.:-tate. Dr. Peters is contidei: I
that the famous fiygern Theory, so called, that
‘•impurity ot't... bloc lis the cause of all diseas
es,” is a great absurdity. Everyone who re
flects ipoti the subject a moment, will perceive
that impu-ity <■/ the blood is a secondary, not a
primary complaint— the effect and not tlie cause
ol disease. When the fu.icticns of the liver are
fieraug: 1, ami the flow of bile increased, it is
often taken up by the absorbent vessels and
carried into the circulation, and becomes min
gl- d with the (.loo.! ns in jaundice, when thu pa
t c::t shows ii in bis countenance. Now Ibis
impurity of the blood is caused by an increased
! flow of bile,;.ml to -ni»*dy it you must correct
i the secretion of the liver, and restore it to a
■ . healthy state.
■ ! Dr. Peters ht-.s spent much time in experi
’ ! m.mting with dffierent. vegetable medicines, for
> 1 disease- of the liver; and now oftvrs his Vege
table Pilis, as the be t, most convenient, and
‘ cheapest medicine that can be prepared fbr gen-
• era! ust, and in offering them to the public, is
1 actuated' more by benevolent than pecuniary
1 motives as the price of the medicine will show.
Dr. Peters flatters himself that his long ex
perimenting with vegetable medicines has ena
’ bled him to discover the true and only substi
' lute answering :J1 the purposes of uercurials
without tmy oftbeir attendant evils. One great
' quality of liis vegetable pills is that they have
the alternative principle combined with their
cathart .c, or operative qualities, so that they not
only cleanse the stomach and bowels bv purging,
buttkey regiiit.te the liver, change the morbid
’ ' secretions strengthen the digestive organs, pu
, ■ rify the blood, invigorate the ci:eolation, and
give tone and energy to the nervous system.
They are mild mid pleasant in their operation,
and convey almo-t immediate conviction of their
Utility from the first dose. They can he taken
with safety by-persons ofany age; and the fee
ble, the infirm, the rwrvous, nnd delicate, ar**
strengthened by their operation, because they
clear the system of bad humor®, quiet nervous
irritability, and restlessness from whatever
source, anil invariably produces sound sleep.
The Vegetable Pills are a sure remedy for
jaundice, sick and nervous headache, dyspepsia,
costivem ss. sickness of the stomach, heal tburti,
all billions complaints, fevers of all kinds, and if
taken nt the commencement will invariably
check their progress, and save the patient from
a protracted and dangerous sickness. They
are invaluable in nervous and hypocondrica
affi etions, hiss of appetite, and all complaints to
! which females alone are subject. They oper
ate ns a mid and speedy pu.ge end area safe
and cere m remedy for worms in children.
Since i have introduced mv Vegetable Pills to
the public, I have received numerous ccrtifi
r-atrs o-f tiwir superior efficacy ill curing diseas
es, tils:,, many fitters from respectable physi-
■ | emus, wjio have used them ill their jiracttee with
