The remains of this renowned Indian Chief, who
died at Fort Moultrie, were interred without tlie
walls ot that Fortress. The Charleston Courier
remarks in reply to a correspondent who complai
of the desecration of the grave, that by the sub
scriptions of the officers of the garrison and
sena, a head and foot stone had been erected to
nwk the spot where the bones of this noble chief
were supposed to repose. These stones had
