on Wayne street, upstairs, over Mr.

The confusion and trouble incident

Tac Attractive Prices
Of Mr. Adolph Joseph have se
cured for him an unprecedented run of
trade, the largest that has ever been
cone in Miiledgeville. We rejoice at
this, lor he merits success. Enterpri
sing and courteous, ever willing and
ready to serve his customers, always
able to accommodate the w’ants of all
and everybody, he is buildingi up a
trade which cannot be livalled by any
house in Middle Georgia.
We call special attention to his ad
vertisement. He calls attention to an
other reduction; still lower prices. He
says our people may rest confident that
they can buy goods lower from him
than they can from any other house
in the city. Ano'her fact worth men
tioning is, that Mr. Joseph accommo
dates our people when they r have no
money. He certainly is entitled to all „ T ..... „

A Show Worth Seeing.
w e are in receipt of a letter Imm the oldest and
most popular of the equestrian, gymnie and zoologi
cal managers in America, Mb. John Robinson, in
which we are advised that his Colossal Combination
entertainment, of Menagerie, Museum. Aquarian and
Circus, is on its way hither, ai d will shortly be with us
These is no cla.-s of uur community but what will
rejoice in this information, conveying, as it does, that,
bcyoDd all questi--u, the largest and best exhibition in
the world is to pay us a visit.
Mr. Robinsou’s lias always been the favorite and
standard Show of the South, and all others have sunk
into utter insignificance in comparison.
He comes lo us now, as we are assured bv our co-
temporaries of the press, at every hand, with an ex
hibition infinitely grander and greater than any of his
former etlorts, and embodying a “World’s Fair’’ of an
imate and inanimate wonders.
It is not our province to enumerate his thonsand-and-
one attractions, for the advertisements and the bills of
the day, which will shortly be displayed, and spread
broadcast through the country by the millions, will ex
onerate us from that task. Bui we will allude, en pas
sant, to his collection of living red Sea Lions from the
laskan seas, his half a score of Arctic Seals, his
great Sumatran Rhinoceros, his gigantic Ostriches,
his stupendous Giraffe, (a recent importation,) and his
vast array of deni and cages; filled to repletion with
living specimens of the rare and curious of earth, sea
and air. The champion athletes and gymnasts of the
Universe, Messrs. Kelly and Stiekuey, by their extra
ordinary skill and daring, add to the attractions of the
entertainment; and the ‘*l)i Vernon” of the arena,
M ile Mille Armour, lends the witching of her beauty
and tearless equestrianism.
For the Untoa k Recorder.
533, Oxford .Street, W. C.. I
London, Sept. 28th, 1872. \
Dear Sir.—I beg respectfully to annex copy of a
circular as sent to the Medicine Vendors and others in
the States and elsewhere by two or three individuals
(oflittleor no means) under the style of the “The
New York Chemical Company," which company had
no existence until October, 1871, and with which I
have no connection.
The more effectually to deceive, they caution the
Public as follows;—
“The immense demand for 'Holloway's Pill*
“nu<l Ointment has tempted uuprineipled'parties
“to eonnterfeit these valuable Medicines.
“In order to protect the Public and ourselves, we
“we haveissned a new ‘Trade Mark,’ Consisting of an
“Egyptian Circle of a serpentwith tiie letter H in the
“cenlre. Every box of geuuine’llollowny's Pills
"huH Oiuiiurnl’ will have this trade markon it.
“None are genuine without it.
“TO DEALERS AND JOBBERS IN DRUGS AND
MEDICINES.
“We call your particular attention to the new style
“of ‘Holloway’* Pills and Ointment'—none of
“of the old style are manufactured by us now, nor
“have they been for months. We therefore caution
“all purchasers against receiving from any Jobbers
“or Dealers the old style of goods.
“Information concerning any sneh goods being
“offered will he received with inauks,
“We ask the favour of all the information you can
“give in regard to those “counterfeits ”
Now tlite Honourable Company, aware that, your
laws do not permit them to copy the precise getting up
ofiny Medicine, put tbeircounterfeits into another form
and intonate that they adopt a New Label.
The object of these people in referring to the im
mense demaud for these Medicines is, that it may be
believed that I am connected with them.
In the i nterest of the public, 1 therefore respectfully
invite you to be pleased to give an insertion to this
letter in your paper, that your readers may not be de
ceived by this "New York Chemical Company's’’
spurious Medicines,
Each Pol and Box of my Genuine Medicines bear
the British Government btamp, with the words “Hoi-

sold in the United States.
