It bas been said on one hand that there was no Lib eral Republican vote in Pennsylvania because the vote of Buckalew was not equal to the former Democratic vote. On the other hand it has been charged that some Democrats sold out to the Cameron ring, and that accounted for the smallness of the vote. The vote as announced does not furnish proof of either of these assertions. It bas al ready been developed that the names ol huudieds of Democrats were voted upon bv the Radical repeaters, and then they were deprived of their votes. The registry law is a convenient machine for repeaters to vote upon the names of citizens who do not get to the polls early in the morning, and the suffer ers are those who belong to the party the repeaters are working against. There is not a ward in Philadelphia where this was not done, and the prob ability is that the number who were deprived of their suffrages by the repea ters will reach thousands. J. S. Williams and Hon. George W. Julian. Mr. Hen dricks said that the presence and en thusiasm of the audieuce assured him “that the work yet to be done will be well done. The contest through which we have just passed had many peculiar features. On the part of our opponents it was bitter and unscrupu lous, and they used their money lav ishly for corrupt purposes in conduct ing the campaign. But against all the formidable array we came out of the struggle with over 1,000 majority. The work is not ended. We must commence the work for November.— The New York election will be fol lowed by a more decisive victory for Greeley and Brown. The defeated candidates on our ticket are still with us. At the close of a campaign like this, some might question the proprie ty of alluding to my connection with ir ; but I wish to refer to one fact: I have been for many years conspic uous in the politics of the State, but never experienced such bitter at tacks as in the present campaign. For my public acts I ask r o cover, but pri vate aihiirs for contemptible purposes had been brought into question without reference to the truth. But all their attacks added to the voles I received. Any one who has lived or travel ed in the country will remember the familiar Co* bos, Co-Eos ! of the farmers’ son or hired man, as he end .avers to coax the cows from ,the great pasture. We have had a little experience in these matters, and well remember how many- times we havo waded through the brush and bogs looking for the cows, and, boylike,we thought them dread ful contrary animals. But we havo lived long enough to learn belter, and now think that the biped was the more contrary animal of the two. Boys, we will tell you a secret that will save you a great deal of trouble, and it is this : Every time the cows are driven up at night or in the morning give them a good lica of meal or bran, and our word for it the cows will always be on hand at milking time. Besides this, they will give more misk, and forget to kick over the milk pail, even if you do whistle a little too loud.—Am. Faded or gray hair is soon restored to its original color with the gloss and freshness of youth. Thin hair is thick ened, falling hair checked, and bald ness often, though not always, cured by its use. Nothing can restore the hair where the follicles are destroyed, or tha glands atrophied and decayed. But such as remain can be saved for usefulness by this application. Instead of fouling the hair with a pasty sedi ment, it will keep it clean and vigorous. Its occasional use will prevent the hair from turning gray or falling off, and consequently prevent baldness. Free from those deleterious substances which make some preparations dangerous and injurious to the hair, the Vigor can only benefit but not harm it. If wanted merely for a HAIR DRESSING, nothing else can bo found so desirable.
