until the County Board of Education
decide to open a public school.

have 14 years experience in teaching, and
desire only a reasonable patronage and a
little time to recommend myself as
teacher.
Knowing from long- experience the
many disadvantages of a multiplicity of
text books. I shall insist on uniformity,
and will adopt the University Series as
far as the public school of the State has
adopted them.
For the benefit of the whole school,
and without extra charge, I propose to
have a daily exercise in vocal music,
teaching the rudiment: and illustrating
the principles upon the blackboard; also
a weekly lecture on tlie subjects of good
manners, taste, refinement, morality, Ac.

THE OALV K.NUU.V MEDICINE
that at the same Time
Purges, Purifies, and Strengthens the
System.
I>r. Tuit'w Pills are composed of many ingredi
ents. Prominent among them are Sarsaparilla and
Wild Cherry, so united as to act together; the one,
through its admixture with other substances, purify
ing and purging; while the other is strengthening the
system. Thus these Pills are at the same time atonic
and a cathartic, a desideratum long sought for by med
ical men, but never before discovered. In other
words, they do the work of two medicines and do it
much better than any two we know of, for they re
move nothing from the system but impurities, so that
while they purge they also strengthen and hence they
cause no debility and are followed by no reaction.
I>r. Tuti'» Pill* have a wonderful influence on
the blood. They not only purify without weakening
if, but they remove all noxious particles from the
chyle before it is converted into fluid, and thus makes
impure blood an utter impossibility. As there is no
debilitation, so there is no nausea or sickness attend
ing the operation of this most excellent medicine,
which never strains or tortures the digestive organs,
but causes them to work in a perfectly natural man
ner; hence persons taking them do not become pale
and emanciated, but on the contrary, while all impu
rities are being removed, the combined action of the
Sarsaparilla and Wild Cherry purifies and invigorates
the body, and a robust state of health is the result of
their uuited action. Price, 2o cents a box. Sold by
aU druggists. Depot 48 Cortlandt St., New York.

PRATT’S ASTRAL OIL
I Absolutely safe. Perfectly odorless. Always uni
form. Illuminating qualities superior to gas. Bums
in any lamp without danger of exploding or taking
fire. Manufactured expressly to displace the use of
volatile and dangerous oils. Its safety unoer every
passible test, and its perfect burning qualities, are
proved by its continued use in over 300,000 families.
Millions of gallons have been sold and no accident
—directly or indirectly—has ever occured from
burning, storing oi handling it.
The immense yearly loss to life and property, result
ing from the use of cheap and dangerous oils iu the
United -States, is appalling.
The Insurance Companies aud Fire Commissioners
throughout the country recommend the ASTRAL as
the best safeguard when lamps aie used. Send for
