Mias:
We devote a large portion of our spacethis
morning tothe able letter of Gov. Johnson
upon the political situation, ■addressed to the
Democratic ^Executive Committee of Troup
county. Its great length should- deter no one
■who desires to be thoroughly informed in re
gard to the vital issues involved in the coining
Presidential election from pvigg jyta^f^jreMj
perusal.; ’ !£rii • - -t
Alike fpr the comprehensivefaess of its grasp,
the power of its logic, the' moderation and
dignity of its tone and the gracefulness of its
dictien, it is unsurpassed by any political essay
that lias yet been given to the public.
It is to be regretted thatit cannot be placed
in the hands of every honest, unprejudiced
man in the Union, presenting as it does in so
Qj-jJSavahmth Volunteer Guards.
