the county; the contents of this note are un
known to your correspondent, but from sub
sequent actions of the sheriff’ it is supposed
to have been a note asking the protection of

sheriff and a* posse. The sheriff akked that;
in deference to the wish of toe citizens, Mr.
Pierce wOnld -not enter toe taran Mr. Pierce
answered that as he was violating no law-of
the county, and no right of toe people, he
would speak in Camilla. He thought’ne had
the right to do so.
