Spirits of Turpentine,—The superiority of the American over the French continues to make the lat ter very slow of sale in our market, while a large and increasing demand predominates tor the former. We are at very low prices now—speculative ones indeed— seen by the quotations. • Pubpentine, or Gum Thus, is scarce here ; ing at about £7 per ton. - RosiN.—We have generous stocks, but a large de mand ; some 5,000 barrels selling weekly. American common, and French brai-noir are somewhat lower,, but the medium and fine qualities maintain their posi tion. It is a singular fact, which "American distillers should note, namely, that the finest/ whitest Rosin, or superfine Virgin, is made in this neighborhood, and on an English patent The finest American parcel on hand is now selling at £14 10s per ton, while the patent English is freely selling at £15 10s to £16, But even the English make is not as pure as many of on? buyers wish to see it, and is quite open to American super- sedure. Rosin Oil manufacture has attained great perfection here, and some of it is classed as White, equal in color to White Lard Off.
