In Connecticut we may fairly expect two more members YowW to our list, and we can hardly fail to elect one Democrat there. We may thus count on electiny from eighty-five to eighty-eight mem bers in the next House of Representatives. This destroys the two-thirds majority; but it will not be suffered to stand so. The Re publicans, following the custom - they have already instituted, will expel or unseat a suffi cient number, say some ten or twelve Demo cratic members, so as to secure their two- thirds majority; and in full anticipation of this unscrupulous course., we hear all over the country of defeated, Republicans who are to contest the seats of Democratic members. The game will be played, and the country will stand it It is safe just yet but may not always be so.,—Xotionol Intelligencer. Such being the relative strength of parties in the House, and such the unscrupulous policy of the Radical majority, who will re sort to every means in their power to regain their two-thirds majority, it is of the gravest importance that only men of unquestioned eligibility be elected to Congress. Georgia has still to elect her delegation to the Forty- First Congress. By the trickery of the Bul lock the bill fixing the time oi election did not become a law, and consequently no elec tion can take place until further legislative action is had, or until the time fixed by the new Constitution, which is in November of next year. We believe nominations have been made in all the Districts of the State except one, and able men and sound Demo- crats have been selected to represent their respective Districts. Four -thousand of the moat eminent medical, meiu^n the Union promptly responded. - Their opinions of the article were unanimously fovorable. Such, a prepara tion, they said, haftlong been wanted by the, profes sion, is ri6 rettabc* could be placed on the .ordinary liquors-of commerce, all of which were more or. less adulterated, and therefore unfit for medical purposes. The peculiar 1 iexcelefice and strength.of the oil of juni per, which formed one of the principle ingredients of the Schnapps, together with aiftinkHoyed character of the alcoholic eleinent, give it, in fixe^estimation of the faculty, a marked superiority' oyer every'‘othor diffusive stimulant as a diuretic tonic and restorative. These satisfactory credentials from professional' men of the highest rank were published in a con densed form, and enclosed with each bottle of the Schnapps, as one of the guarantees of its genuine ness. Other precautions against fraud were also adopted; a patent was obtained for the article, the labie was copywrighted, a foe simile of the proprietor's autograph signature was attached to each labie and cover, bis name and that of the preparation were em bossed on the bottles, and the corks were sealed with. his private seal. No article had ever been sold in this country under the name of Schnapps prior to the in troduction of Wolfe’s Schiedam Aromatic Schnapps, in 1851; and the labie was deposited, as his trade mark, in the United States District Court for thte -Southern District of New York during that year. It might be supposed by persons unacquainted with the daring character of the pirates who prey upon the reputation of honorable merchants by vending delete rious trash under their name, that the protections so carefully thrown around these Sconapps would have precluded the introductions and sale of counterfeits. They seem, however, only to have stimulated the rapacity of impostors. The trade mark of the proprie tor has been stolen; the indorsement.which hia Schie- dam Aromatic Schnapps alone received from the medi cal profession has been claimed by mendacious hum bugs; bin labels'and bottles have been imitated,' his ad vertisements paraphrased, his circulars copied, and worse than all,* dishonorable retailers, after disposing of the genuine contents of his bottles, have filled them up with common gin, the most deleterious of all liquors, and thus made his name and brand a cover for poison. The public, the medical profession and the aide, for whom the Schiedam Aromatic Schnapps is prescribed as a remedy, are equally interested with ;the proprie tor in the detection and suppression of these nefari ous practices. The genuine article, manufactured at the establishment of the undersigned, in Schiedam, Holland, is distilled from a barley of the finest quality, and flavored with.an essential extract of the berry of the Italian juniper^ of unequalled purity. By a process unknown in the preparation of any other liquor, it is freed from every acrimonious and 'corrosive Element.* Complaints have been received from the leading physicians and families in, the Southern Slates of the sale of cheap Imitations of the Schiedam Aromatic Schnapps in those markets; and travellers, who are in the habit of using it as an antidote to the baneful In fluence of unwholesome river water, testify that cheap gin, lut up in Schiedam battles, is frequently palmed 'off upon the unwary; The agents of the undersighed have been requested to fostitute inquiries on the sub ject, and to forward to him’the names of such parties aa they may asoerfaiii to’be engaged in the atrocious system of deception. In conclusion, theiundersigned ^quld say that he has produced, from under the hands _ ofthe ; mqst distinguished men of science in'America, proofs unanswerable of ! the purity and medicinal m- l cellence of thp Schiedam Aromatic Schnapps; that he has expended many thousand dollars in surrounding ALL ORDERS PROMPTLY FILLED. peradded to it we are to have universal negro suffrage and a mongrelized nation. “It admits a struggle of seventy-five years opAhe y$rt> of New England to overthrow our free, fed erative system, and of fifty years to mon- grelize us with negroes'. r Now, it thinks;. the work is done.
