As will be seen by '-the article which we published yesterday, the proposition is fa vored, by. leading men of the Bepnblican party. It js sustained by 1 Jndge Nicholas with argument which cannot fail to convince eveiy candid, patriotic man. The subject is one whoefejises above all party considera tions, and appeals to the judgment of every lover of-his cduntiy. It i* an appeal to the bead and heart of the American people, which no true friend of the liberty, peace and prosperity of bis country can reject. Bow at Qoithan Conni HocBB.-Winle.the Superior Court was in session at Georgetown, Qmtinan county, Ga., on .Tuesday morning last, a citizen approached his. lather who was in the Court Hpuse, and spoke in rather a loud tone to him, as he igjdeaf. The Judge hearing the noise and seeing.the parties fined them one dollar each. After the court ad journed for dinner, the young man approach ed the Jndge, and after some words,-assailed him. They were separatedheforo much dam age was done,: and the-Jndge ordered the Sheriff to snmmon a posse to arrest the assail ant. The Sheriff could find none .willing to aid him, and the order of .the Judgg was un heeded.
